Finally gave them a try and am glad I did! Beautiful presentation and delicious as well. I make a pretty good shepherds pie and this one rivaled my own….and brought back fond memories of pub food in England way back in my college days. The crust was better than mine so I may call on them again when I need a pile of food to quell the starving masses. The large will feed 6 not too hungry folks, so I bought two just to be safe and we ended up with leftovers…. I intend to try it again tomorrow with a reheat. Thats the REAL test for pot pie, as far as Im concerned…. I picked up the menu for another day and there is some real variety in there! I went for tradition though and wonder about a bar b que pie…not to mention a jambalaya pie….hmmmm. So why not five stars? I would have preferred stew meat in the shepherds pie instead of the ground beef (that WAS ground beef, wasnt it) and the chicken could have used a bit more inventive spice combo…. but be advised, 4 stars is a very good rate from me-5 stars means manna from heaven. This place comes close!

A well-kept secret in Marietta and Kennesaw. For a busy working family that wants a hearty, delicious, healthy choice instead of pizza and fast food. They have 12 different pot pies to choose for the many taste options. I love the fact that I can pull a Pauls Pies out of the freezer when I haven’t planned for a meal and 1 hour later, have a delicious hot meal and ready to eat. I went yesterday and picked up 9 pot pies for our family and my 2 daughters. I also had lunch with a friend came with me and he bought 5 for his family. He is now going to be a hero when his wife hasn’t planned for dinner and he can say I’ve got dinner taken of tonight honey. My favorite is the shepherd’s pie and beef stroganoff however plan to to try the BBQ and jambalaya. Give them a try and you glad you have a better option than pizza or fast food.

Known As Pauls Pot Pies. Pauls Pot Pies is located on Mill St just off of the Marietta Square in an obscure location. Months ago, after seeing a segment on this establishment featured on the Travel Channel, we took a 60 minute drive to find and try it. Unfortunately either we did not recall or they did not state, that this is a TAKE OUT ONLY AND NOT COOKEDa take it home and bake it yourself. So, when my wife happened to be in the area again recently, she was delighted to be able to stop in again to try it. At first. Jambalaya Pot Pie 6 @ $8 each. Menu said it contains shrimp, chicken, sausage, bell pepper, onions, and rice. It also had carrots and a red spaghetti type sauce. The chicken was white meat. I could not discern any type of onion. The sausage was Italian style and nothing was browned in anyway, ie the ingredients were basically thrown together. It was pretty well filled. The pastry crust was a puff type with two crusts, but either a bad dough recipe or low budget commercial pre-fab that was definitely made with vegetable shortening. The top layer flaked once and was soggy the rest of the way down indicating that either the baker did not know how to make puff pastry or it was a cheap commercial ruse. The cooked bottom crust was mush. As a Louisiana native and Chef, I can tell you this was nothing like Jambalaya and more like a funky spaghetti sauce pie with a few bits of rice. The maker relied heavily on seasoning the pie solely from the poached sausage. Basically it was a heavy and soggy mess of things stuffed in an aluminum pie tin. Vegetarian Pot Pie 6 @ $7.50 each. Menu said it contains Feta cheese, broccoli, carrots, spinach, cannelloni beans, tomatoes, and zucchini. It was very heavy on spinach and light on everything else but accented with carrots. My wifes review was said best: This tastes like a bag of frozen vegetables in pie crust with no flavor. I agree. It was very suspicious of a bag of frozen Italian Medley vegetables with some extra greens thrown in to fill it out. A couple of red spots made their appearance but mostly very green and some orange. Two things learned (again): 1) Dont believe everything on TV as to take you more than a few miles to get there to experience it, and 2) If an eating establishment offers you a Regional dish and you aint IN that region–dont be a sucker. Make sure you know for the Chef is FROM the area in question or has had extensive experience IN that region. Also, I can tell you from experience, Marie Calendars frozen pot pies are better quality and a lot cheaper. You have to take that home and bake them too, but you can probably find a store to sell them to you with less hassle than it is to get one of these things.

Good Pies, Bad Service. I ordered over $200 worth of pies to be shipped out of Georgia for gifts.Paul took 3 weeks to ship the pies. His next day, next day, next day excuses were poor with no explanation of the delays. And no apology.i will never order again from Traveling Fare.

Marietta Treasure. I’ve never actually eaten at Paul’s Pot Pies, I always get carry out. The inside of the restaurant is what you would have to call cozy with seating for about 8 people. The pot pies are the best. My favorites are the jambalaya and the pot roast. All the pies have plenty of meat and a savory mix of vegetables. Paul is normally there behind the counter and is a excellent host. A true gem of the Marietta dining (lunching) scene.
