I really WANT to love it. It really is the cleanest, best designed eatery on the Square. The location is ideal for me to walk to on the weekends. I ate there this morning. My seafood omelet was significantly overcooked (and I’m not high-maintenance). I also don’t care to pay $1.75 for a single bottle of soda. At that price, I would prefer a fountain with refills like almost every other restaurant in Atlanta. Other than that, I thought the service was above average and the environment is quite charming. I liked it enough to give it another try (or two) to see if the cook was having an off day.

VERY disappointed in our recent visits here. The service has been HORRIBLE . ONE HOUR at a table with no order taken and COMPLETLY IGNORED by our waiter it wasnt even busy! We have been coming here for years for there bakery sweets and more recently their food. I used to reccomend this place to clients and take them to lunch here and buy several sweet boxes from here for friends. I will not do that anymore! Recently I had lunch with a friend here and the service was HORRIBLE it wasn’t particularly busy and the waiter seemed annoyed we ordered water for our drinks it took 20 minutes before he came back to take our food order. It took another hour before our salads were on the table. Yes salad . We thought ok an off day. It happens. Until I returned with my family for dinner…. the host said he had no tables available for the four of us. Yet we could see their was three tables pushed together to seat 8. He asked us to come back in 15 min. We came back and were seated with those same tables empty! The waiter asked for our drink order and was annoyed we ordered water ….. He NEVER came back to our table to take our order for food…. We watched him go back and forth and service a few table with wine bottles ….and bread…. Completely ignoring us 45 minutes went by and still no waiter to order food… Finally over hungry we decided on another restaurant and as we got up to leave ONE HOUR after sitting down !! Another staff person saw us leaving and offered to get our order and we said no thank you we waited TOO long already and left…. The staff person just replied with oh ok…. Like she dident care she was loosing business…..We will never come here again due to the rude service …. Nor will we reccomend it anymore …. I will also send an email out ALL my clients of our recent experiences here. Not once but TWICE with HORRIBLE service!
My husband and I had lunch here with our two kids on a Saturday following a visit to the farmer’s market. We had a few special requests for our meal (no cheese on a sandwich, extra plate for the kids) and the server got everything right. The food was delicious, especially my grilled veggie sandwich. Our kids split a simple omelette with feta and devoured it. We’d be happy to fine here again.
I love their chocolate mouse with rapsberry filling the mariage is my next fave.
My fianc and I were waiting for at least 10 minutes for a table to open, which by the way, two tables were vacant and clean, yet the employee continued to walk past us without seating us. Then, a couple walked it, bypassed the wait, and sat right down without any reguard for the process of waiting for a table. As we stood there in disbelief, and as the employee kept passing us without addressing the other couple, we decided to leave. Between the lack of customer support, and disreguard of any type of order, we definitely won’t be back.
Both Breakfast and Lunch are excellent. This is a wonderful alternative to the restaurants that have been on the Square for a while. Excellent, reasonably priced food and good service. I couldn’t agree more with BCW: the mushroom soup is one of the best I have ever eaten. And they have one of the best Croissants on the planet. The chicken salad is good, as are their breakfast plates. Unless you come at their busiest times during a weekend breakfast rush, I can’t imagine you leaving with anything but a smile on your face, and maybe a pastry or two in a box.
