  Call ahead seating is a waste of time and the hostesses on a busy saturday night are ditzy. After sitting for 15 minutes past our call ahead time, our buzzer goes off and one girl (who was applying lipgloss) checked our name and said to hold on a second, that they were cleaning the table and she wasn’t sure why the other girl called us just yet but they would be done soon. So we stood there and the other girl comes back and said that no, our buzzer was broken and it wasn’t our turn yet and did we have a cell phone number they could text us with when our table was ready. We declined and waited an additional 15 minutes before being seated again (30 minutes past our call ahead time of 7:00 that we called in at 5:00). Ridiculous! Our server was great and the food was good otherwise.

  Pleasant Surprise!. I didn’t think I’d like Texas Roadhouse. The place is LOUD, busy, waitresses were dancing down the aisle …. really, how good could the food be?!But y’know — our meal was great! Somebody had given us a giftcard and we were in the mood for hamburgers. Might as well use the card and get it out of the way (thus my low expectations.) To my delight, our burgers were cooked exactly as ordered. We were allowed to substitute side salads for fries … and the greeter came over with a basket of gratis fried pickles. (A smart move to attract new customers.)I doubt I’ll become a ‘regular’, but I’ll certainly come back when I’m hungry for a quick and casual meal. (While I bet the steaks are good — they can cut them to order — for the rare instances I want steak, I’d rather go to a place that’s more sedate.)

  Just skip it.. I was meeting a friend that I hadn’t seen in years and I’m not sure we could have picked a worse place. The hostess and server were rude, my steak wasn’t cooked properly and missing its sauce, the rice was mushy and refills came slow. Add in the loud and obnoxious atmosphere (yes, I know it’s a ‘roadhouse’, but think dance club volume), and it’s just all together bad. And to think I came here after finding a fly cooked in my food a couple of years ago. Shame on me, I suppose, but I won’t be making that mistake again.
