Food portions were VERY small and service wasnt great. Descriptions were also misleading and server had no knowledge of beers on draft. Three of us ordered past and it came in a small salad bowl with 3 shrimp
It just occurred to me why when I was invited to go here by some friends I had not heard of WR Social House before…it used to be Willie Rae’s. Interesting. Anyways, this is a great ‘addition’ to the Square’s repertoire of restaurants. It has a neat atmosphere and a great modern look now. Their food offerings are different and unique. I got the enchiladas (not on the menu, apparently they have a lot of dishes not listed, you have to ask) and they were SO GOOD!!! They were pretty spicy, so a head’s up if that isn’t your thing. The best enchiladas I have ever had. I don’t remember what everyone got in my party but this place was a hit for all. Our waitress was fantastic and patient, even with our large group. She answered all of our questions and was attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant! Only things I need to warn about are that they charge $1 for the ice if you get a liquor on-the-rocks (yet they don’t charge extra for water on-the-rocks?) and if you are in a larger group they automatically add 20% to your bill. Other than that, loved going here!
Be Careful !!!. For lunch ordered the 14.00 Fish and Chips as a carry-out, there was a horrible order coming from the box. There were 4 small pieces of cod and a chunky pieces of fried potatoes. Definitely not my idea of good fish and chips. The food looked terrible and greasy snf smelled worst, I could not eat.
Excellent food, laid back dining. First time here was a success. Not very busy on a Wednesday night, I was seated immediately at the bar(party of 1). I tried the fried bread and butter pickles, and they were quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. The fact that they’re sweet pickles instead of dill really sets them off. They’re also cut very thin, making them like chips once they’re fried, and served with a remoulade sauce. Even though its not REAL remoulade, this mayo based sauce has the right flavor to get the job done. I had the special of the night, a grilled trout poboy with some of the same thin cut sweet pickles, romaine lettuce, onion, and the remoulade sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the flavors came together nicely. Even with the fried pickles app and a sweet tea, I came out under 20 bucks with tax. Well worth it, IMO even if the downtown-esque location makes it a bit difficult to park.
Disappointed. There were four of us having dinner and all of the meals were flawed. I ad the famous fish Tacos but they were not the same as the real fish tacos from the original Willie Rae’s. Two others had the jambalaya pasta which had an okay flavor but was short on shrimp and sausage. The fourth guest had a burger and again flavor was good but the meat was burned to a crisp. The new renovation makes this a very loud place and table mates can not hear each other speak. Overall it was disappointing and not a place I would suggest as great anymore. All of this comes from a willie read fan that used to eat here every week before the change in management.
Awesome!. I had my rehearsal dinner held at Willie Rae’s in the upper event room and I HIGHLY recommend it! It was served family style with two apps, three entrees and two desserts to choose and share from. The atmosphere was really fun and the food was amazing! The blackened okra was to die for. Thaks Willie Rae’s!
