Horrible customer service. The owner is rude and told me to eat at mcdonalds where i cna get a toy when i told him that my husband liked his meal but i didnt likemine, just because i am a picky eater. after complaining to his wife about his attitude, she got defensive and told me she could go get him so i can say this to his face. this is not how u treat customerswe will never eat here again

A Fun & Unique German Experience. When my boyfriend first moved to Augusta, we were excited to find any restaurant in Augusta that was not a chain restaurant. We were even more pleasantly surprised, however, when we tried Augsburg House. This place is consistently delicious and the portions are huge. I always have leftovers. The atmosphere is fun and really embraces the German theme. The owners always engage with their customers and we like that they are active supporters of the military. The Krauter Rahmschnitzel with spaetzle is our favorite dish but we’ve also tried (and really enjoyed) the Jaegarschnitzel and Gulasch. Definitely worth a try!

A warning. We wanted to take our family to a good German restaurant. Augsburg Haus was anything but. We all ordered different meal items. The Sauerbraten had not been marinated more than the time spent under the vinegar concoction they called gravy. The Rouladen was not as good as the ones I make myself at home. The Rotkohl had evidently come out of a jar. They claim the schnitzel is breaded there, but I am not sure that it doesn’t come frozen that way. If they do bread it there, they must have cooked it first thing in the morning because it was stale. The gravy everything was smothered in had more salt than a package, so I assume it to came out of a can. When we had each tasted each other’s food, and quit eating, the waitress avoided our table at all costs glancing every time she walked by without a word. When my husband went to pay the bill (which was outrageous for the quality), he politely informed the host of the schnitzel problem who immediately got some man out of the back to come and tell my husband that the food was good, and he must just have a problem with taste (he was not very polite about this). Because we were with our family, we paid and left. My husband lived in Germany for 8 years. My daughter and I have also been for several months. We are not connoisseurs, but we do have taste buds. I have never left an online review before, but thought this warranted it. If you want German food the way Augsburg Haus makes it, buy something that resembles meat and gravy in the grocery store freezer section, sit down with a German flag and a picture of Neuschwanstein and think about all the money, aggravation and time you have saved.

Try Villa Europa instead. Overpriced and not worth it

I’ve never eaten in Germany, but I know what I like!. The best food… the best beer… it’s like visiting my German grandmother’s kitchen (if I had a German grandmother). Adolf, Hazel, and Wendi always make us feel like family. The food is incredible, the portions are huge, and the staff is quick, attentive, and friendly. Tonight, I had their roulade for the first time. My wife has made rouladen for me many times, and it is very, very good. That being said, at great personal risk, I’m going to say that the roulade I had tonight was better.Give Augsburg Haus a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Authentic, homestyle German food!. Coming from a German family, I feel qualified to opine that this restaurant’s food is authentic and home-style. We showed up for an early lunch and were immediately greeted by friendly staff. After ordering our drinks (which included a decent selection of German beers on tap), the owner (Adolf) came by and chatted with us for awhile… very friendly and personable. He really made us feel as though we were visiting his home; we could tell he is passionate about his food. Each of the three different meals we ordered (Jaegerschnitzel, Saurbraten and Roulade) were delicious and generously portioned. In terms of quality and quality, the food definitely is value-priced based on my experience with other German restaurants. Essentially, this restaurant was one of the culinary highlights of our visit to the Augusta area, and we’ll definitely return here the next time we’re in town.

This place is like coming home to family. Real food and real people with Schnitzel, spaetzle, and of course dunkel weiss. Join the family for a filling wholesome meal served with a smile.
