We go every Sunday after church. It is always crowded but our service is always good. My vegetable, egg white omelet is outstanding and the pancakes are the best ever, especially the blueberry. We appreciate real butter and maple syrup. We only wish they offered a whole grain pancake though. We also love their salads and dessert. Everything we’ve gotten has been great! Once I asked for no cheese on my omelet once and it was served with cheese. I didn’t make a big deal over it but the manager came and gave me my meal for free.

Wouldn’t you think this would be the friendliest place in town?…. Fair assessment, right? Well, that was not our experience Sunday morning. Maybe they didn’t get their morning coffee, but they really need to work on their people skills. Oh, but once ol’ sourpuss finally took out order, and the food arrived, it was GREAT! But did we need to go through all that to get here? I’m just sayin’…

Food is not appetizing…. We have not been here in several years but tried it again last week. We went during the dinner service at about 7:30 on Tuesday night. The restaurant was about 2/3 full of patrons. The initial service was fairly quick but the food took about 35 minutes to be served. The 1/2 pound hamburger steak was tough, the hamburgers were tough, the fries were cold and not cooked all the way through. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and crisp. Because it took so long to receive our order we did not send anything back but we told the manager of our experience. He asked us to give them another chance and offered us a free meal. We accepted and returned last night at about 7 pm. This time the restaurant was about 1/2 full. Service was pleasant and prompt and attentive. The food was once again dreadful. We made an issue to the waitress and management that we would trying their ground burgers again and we were sorry we did. The burgers could not even be cut with steak knives except they were sawed. Forks could not cut the hamburger steaks and hamburgers. It has been a long time since we had tough hamburgers at a restaurant. Even though mine was medium it still was very tough. The steak fries were not crisp or even done all the way through. The only thing we ordered which appeared properly cooked and edible was the fried catfish fillet. Out of a $30+ ticket maybe $5 was appetizing and edible. Food rates far below any fast food hamburger joint or Captain D’s. Something is very wrong at this restaurant. We will not be back again for a long time.

There Was A Reason the Parking Lot Was Empty. We went to Cracker Barrel this morning for pancakes. Probably the worst pancakes I’ve ever had. The mix must have been yesterday’s. The pancakes were as thin as the edge of the handle of the butter knife. And they were slightly gooey in the middle. Add to this Cracker Barrel’s policy of having you beg for maple syrup and it was a disaster. This is one of the rare Cracker Barrel restaurants that is not located near an interstate. It would be nice if they moved and made way for a restaruant that could do a better job. They lost me as a customer today. I can get better pancakes at a dozen other places within a quarter mile.22 Nov, 2009Great Pancakes!. Just had breakfast there with my wife. Great pancakes! Also, our server was totally top notch. The only things I can suggest is that I could have used a little more maple syrup… They give you these tiny bottles that are just a cute as a maggot on a week-old lobster tail but it’s just not enough. Also, I found that the sausage is a bit too smoky for me. It was like licking an old ashtray but I’m sure most folks like the smoky taste. Again, for me it was just too overpowering. Otherwise, a good experience.
