Piece of heaven. So I don’t live in Fayetteville but may have to make the trip more often to go back to the CandyBar. I was in the area and wanted something sweet so I stopped by what I thought was a candy shop. Once I got to the door I immediately saw an array of sweet pastries, none of which were candy as the name suggests. Don’t get me wrong, this was the best surprise ever because I had my pick of whatever sweet carb I wanted from donuts, to cupcakes to slices of cake. Overwhelmed with the options, the lady at the register offered me a sample of a cake she had in the back. I thought it was really nice of her to do this because I was leery of choosing something I didn’t like. She brought out what she called a Neopolitan cake. After one bite I was sold. Normally I don’t like chocolate cake but the combination of chocolate, key lime, & strawberry cake was perfect. The cake was extremely moist & just downright good. So much so that I bought a full slice and didn’t want to delay eating it so I sat at a table outside the shop to enjoy. The girl at the counter (I later learned that her name was Tricie) came out to check on me a few times and offered me some homemade peach tea. I was already on a sugar high but I tasted it anyway and was again very impressed with this little shop. I am pretty critical about food but my first experience was great & I would recommend that if you have a sweet tooth like me & have time to kill, the Candy Bar is worth the drive. Good food, good service, cute atmosphere. If only it were closer to downtown….
