Disappointed on Valentine’s Day. Grits Cafe is obviously very popular because I could only get a reservation at 8:45 for 15 FEB. Even at that late hour we were excited to make the 45 minute drive – the menu looked promising. The drive wasn’t too bad and upon entering we were impressed with the structure and ambiance of the cafe.Having said that, here are some negatives. Although we had a reservation we had to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. It took about 8 of those minutes trying to get a beer from the bar (which was out of the only one I wanted). Once seated, we were handed menus that were minus the entrees for which we were willing to drive 45 minutes (duck confit, lobster thermador). If I knew of anther place to go we would have left. On the website I saw the Valentine’s special menu, which again, wasn’t the menu we received at our table. So, to sum it up, I didn’t see anywhere on the website that the regular menu would not be served and the special menu wasn’t the same as the one at the cafe. Major disappointments. What we ended up ordering was really delicious, even though the spring rolls were extremely greasy, and the duck pieces in the duck prosciutto were greasy, were about one square inch with a rim of fat, and there were only three pieces of it.My last complaint may be the worst one. Our check came in at $114+ but when the merchant copy came it said $156+. Having been a waiter and matre d’ I always ensure the accuracy of the check, and I’m glad I did this time. When I confronted our server she didn’t even hesitate to give the explanation, which, to me, suggested she was aware of the switch and was ready to explain it away if I caught it. That, of course, is pure speculation on my part, but that was the impression I got.I emailed the owner about our issues but she didn’t seem concerned enough to offer some sort of incentive to give them another try.

We planned on having dinner at the Grits cafe and didn’t mind the drive from Warner Robins. It was worth the trip and we will definitely return. Dinner was excellent and so far the best Middle Georgia has to offer. The homemade biscuits are to die for. Appetizers, entree and dessert were delicious and the presentation outstanding. Our waitress was incredible and professional. I wish the wine card had more selections. The prices were average for excellent food.

The prior reviewers have NO clue what properly prepared meals may be edible, and,in fact tasty.. Overly fussy wait person… very poor attitude on the part of the chef/owner….over-reached attempt at ‘haute-cuisine’……Mickey D’s is at least honest in their presentation, Not edible, but honest….unlike Grits Cafe.

Great menu variety. Spent the night in Forsyth. Grits Cafe was recommended. We were very happy that we had the opportunity to eat here. Good variety of tasty meal. Chef knows his stuff. Menu does differ a bit from posted on website. You can’t go wrong. Great atmosphere and large wine list of excellent wines to choose from. Great decor on a historic building. Would eat there again. Recommend.

Wow, and awesome… We had lunch, which is very reasonably priced. The Soup/Sandwich combo or Pork and Mushroom Soup and a Deep Fried Hamburger which we split. The Soup was like old-fashioned gravy and delicious, the burger was good and juicy. The salad we picked was the Arugula w/ homemade Ricotta, Pears (2 different kinds) and Pecans, seriously succulent.. The Shrimp Grits Shitake Mushroom Martini and the Grits Fritters were fantastic too. Everything was a winner. It was my birthday and the special dessert was decadent and off the chain. I hear that dinner is way pricier, ya get what ya paid for.. Big thumbs up, Thanks Grits Caf.

Unbelievable find. So many great menu items. Chose Ahi Tuna Salad and Open Face Gouda BLT. Can’t wait to go back!

Our favorite restaurant. Grits Cafe is our favorite date night restaurant. It is romantic but not pretentoius and the food is always amazing. We love to eat out and love to try new places, but nothing comes close to Grits for the food, service, and atmosphere. And our favorite server, Marilyn, makes it even better.
