I’m from the Chicago area and fondly remember Rosati’s from the late 80’s. Just had a carry out pizza (Chicago Style), and my wife and daughters (Atlanta born) loved it.
Typically great pizza. I have had some great pizza at Rosati’s when I first started visiting this past summer. However, there have been some inconsistencies with the quality. Last night was the first time I can say I was truly disappointed, but I won’t let that change my opinion of the place…yet. Last night’s thin crust pizza was overwhelmingly loaded with mozzarella cheese. You could not see any topping on more than half of the pizza because there was so much cheese. The table next to us was actually worse – there pizza arrived before ours and I thought that they must have ordered triple cheese. The worst part of having this much cheese was that we all agreed that it also tasted different like cheap, low quality cheese. Not sure whether or not they changed the cheese, but regardless, the pizza was quite marginal compared to the usual excellent. Rosati’s is a great place to catch a game and drink some great craft beers with a huge selection on draft. It is always jam packed crowded when we go. They do have a couple of tables thrown in up front that you want to avoid (picture putting a table in grand central station at rush hour). In general, I would recommended grabbing a table outside, which is also partially tented for the winter. I’m looking forward to trying a sandwich or pasta next visit as I’ve heard some good reviews.
Not consistent. Had to write a review after 8+ times trying Rosati’s. Every single time the pizza tastes different (crust is different, cooking time different, amount of sauce and ingredients is different). And different in a bad way. It’s very frustrating when you’re expecting good pizza and don’t get it! I’m from Chicago so I know good pizza, and unfortunately, this is not that good. Especially for the price. It’s fine if I’m paying $10.99 for a large like at your usual crappy pizza chains. Not ok to pay $20+ for average pizza. I hope the owners read this and train the pizza makers to be consistent…and consistently good….

Yuk!. If this is authentic Chicago food, I have no reason to visit Chicago. Its no wonder their politicians are so corrupt if they have to eat this garbage all the time. Only those with iron stomachs should attempt to eat here. Cons: How do you cook a hamburger burned on the outside but raw in the middle. Juicy Italian beef sandwich, not so much, its more of a dried out beef sandwich. Fried chicken – throw that recipe away!!! Other food we had was mediocre at best. Even the side salad was a disapointment.Pros: Service was good, Dough nuggets are only decent thing I tried and its kind of hard to mess those up.
