Incredibly small portions. We went to Bonefish, SSI, on Christmas Eve. We are a family of 6 (and had 8 that night) and have a tradition of going out on Xmas eve every year. We will not be going back to Bonefish any time soon. The food was good bug the portions were ridiculous. My son had Mahi Mahi and the fish portion as the size of a golf ball. I had seared tuna and pretty much the same – not even 4 oz. I actually felt bad for everyone in my family since we all had such small dinners.
Good dependable food and service. 9 times out of 10 it’s awesome. We went this past weekend and unfortunately it was one of those 1 out of 10 times. Not terrible by any means but I didn’t think it was up to their usual quality. My favorite item by far is the ahi sashimi tuna, but this time it was way over cooked. Barely any pink in it. Was not tasty at all. Fried oster special was average (small & kind of mushy; not crunchy). And all of the portions were smaller. Only small to-go boxes so we had to carry out a bunch of them. We enjoyed ourselves (large party) but I left a little disappointed. I will go back though.
Splendid Food. This is a wonderful quality restaurant. You get superior foods here, more so than most other restaurant meals out. If you take the quality of the food and compare it to if you were to go out and purchase that same standard of food and ingredients you would be hard pushed to recreate the same quality for not spending more than the restaurant prices, this to me is where a fantastic and enjoyable meal comes to play. There are so many healthy and fresh options here, I only wish I lived closer so I could eat there more often.
Why visit a chain at the beach?. Not great. It’s a chain and there are much better options on the island. Service is slow, they nickel and dime you trying to make an upcharge. Decent drink specials during happy hour but otherwise check out the other places on SSI.
Dependable go-to. We always head here with whoever cares to join from our neighborhood after a day at the beach. Great drink specials, very yummy seafood and a great atmosphere. We always take our guests here and they are always surprised to learn that Bonefish is part of a chain, even more surprised to find out that the chain is owned by Outback Steakhouse. People freak out over the Bang Bang Shrimp!
Delicious fresh fish. Great fresh fish, salads, and sides. Always good!
