The restaurant was nice, people were pleasant and the food was good. The time that it took to get seated, order our food and receive the food was extremely too long!! The wait was fairly ridiculous.
Horrible service. This is the slowest service I have ever seen & they could care less. The hotdog we ordered was quite good but don’t expect to get your order taken quickly, we had to go get the waiter, your food to come quickly, or to see your ticket without asking for it. We will not be going back.
Good food, service is Slow/untrained. First, the location and atmosphere is laid back and inspires a lazy island time attitude of flip flops and beer. The food is really good and the prices are not bad. My only complaint is that the service seems to be on vacation/island time as well. Getting drinks refilled, or asking for the check takes forever. Even when it’s not too busy. Worth a try if you have plenty of time and want to lounge around!
Not too bad. OK, don’t let me being from Athens fool you. I have been on the island on it’s slow weekends as well as the busy ones. There are problems with the restaurant. Just like how there are positives.First, the positives. The food is decent. It isn’t great, and honestly you can get a good burger wherever you desire. The location and atmosphere are fantastic. When you eat at Brogen’s you know you’re at Saint Simon’s. Where it’s the patrons playing the bar games waiting for their food or eating outside watching the fishermen on the pier, you get that vibrancy.Now here are the negatives. Everything takes forever. Unless you hit the restaurant at just the right time, you will be waiting a while to get your seat and even longer to order your meal. You would think that with such a busy environment, the servers would be accustomed to it. Wrong. In one experience, I watched our waitress sit around and do nothing as we waited for ten minutes to get a refill on a drink. That got really annoying really quickly.It’s not the place you go for a quiet conversation. Regardless if it is in the spring or summer months or Georgia/Florida weekend. It’s not terrible, but there are plenty more options out there, as well as a second location deeper in the island that may better suit you.
Rude service, young waiters without training, really bad vibes… Did not enjoy my experience, had to tell the waiter to clean our table and never came back to do so… Food worst than fast food! Don’t recommend it
Brogens- Village. Decent place. Fun to watch a georgia game. Food is typical bar food. Fried shrimp, chicken fingers, and burgers are good. Reasonably priced. Service can be slow and cleanliness can be hit or miss.
Great burgers and fries. Reuben and fried shrimp were good as well. Very good daquiris also… Only complaint is the service… Friendly but extremely slow…takes forever to get anything including a refill.
