I had a craving for nachos, so we went to the most advertised joint on the island. Large portion and flavorful ingredients. Also tried the buffalo chicken burrito…. Not quite as good. Pretty spicy sauce but the only ingredient was the chicken! No beans, no rice, no sour cream…. Weird. The entire thing was drenched in the cheese sauce. Also came with the black beans, rice, and pico as sides, which were Just OK. I wish my craving had been for the fish tacos now…..and there were easy substitutions too- shrimp, carne asada, etc…the real winner was the perfect weather for outdoor seating… Made everything taste better!
Very good food and margaritas!! They also give free chips and salsa! Staff was very friendly!
Overpriced and mediocre.. I ordered the pork tacos and received several spoonfuls of cold pulled pork on burrito sized Mission tortillas with Kraft shredded Mexican cheese. Rice and beans were also still cold. I guess they forgot to microwave it long enough. Also, they charged $5 for already congealed plain queso. Sorely disappointed.
Terrible food. OK service. Great drinks. I ordered the fish tacos and have to say they are the worst fish tacos I have ever had. The fish filet was too big and flavorless. The breading on the fried fish was soggy. There was not enough sauce on the tacos (this is coming from a person that never wants more sauce on anything). Even the complimentary salsa that you receive when you are first seated was bad. I’m disappointed because the place has a cool atmosphere but had terrible food. One condolence was the margaritas; they were great. Overall, great for drinking but not for eating.
This is a great little place, and a surprisingly good value. Lots of variety on the menu, and the daily specials are creative and tasty. Do get here early, though – there is very little seating and this place fills up quick at lunch and dinner. Great staff, great food, good prices.
Food is decent. Service is awful!!! Had to ask for ask for menus, napkins, silverware, and to order drinks. If you ate expecting fresh, chunky guacamole, this isnt your place. It’s very smooth and doesn’t have much taste. Didn’t really care for the qhite queso either. My steak fajitas were pretty good and my mom enjoyed her fish tacos. Waitress didn’t come check on us. The decor is super cute. Maybe it’s better at night.
Good food. I haven’t been to SSI in many years, so Bubba Garcia’s was a new place for me. A friend and I got fajitas to go and ate back at our beach condo. They were very good! It’s a lot of food, but don’t worry…it tastes good a day later too! I will definitely go back!
