Disappointed Island Regular; Not going back. Sorry Fortune House, but you’ve disappointed me for the last time. This time the Fried rice tasted Rancid (old rice?) and not freshly prepared; General’s chicken was fried beyond edibility; and the General’s sauce made the fried chicken coating soggy (didn’t soften up the chicken itself, though). Just a careless meal. We’ll be going across the bridge to satisfy our future Chinese cravings.
Just picked up an order got it home and found that they didn’t put the egg rolls in the bag. I went back and told them and they basically called me a liar. Never will I go back to this place again. The Winn Dixie next has frozen Chinese food that is better theirs anyway.
My Fave – LIKE IT!. I come here often with friends or family. I think the buffet is only during the week for lunch and dinner, but I could be wrong. I don’t know what the other people’s deal is who don’t like Fortune House. Their food is always tasty & pretty fresh and seems much more house made than many other Asian buffets I’ve been to elsewhere. I love the 3 condiments by the soup. This place is a local’s secret. Never see too many tourists here. Lots of working people for a quick lunch during the week.
Horrible…the buffet was picked-over and it did’t seem as though they were going to refill anything. Had to ask the guy for more fried rice (since there was only about a spoonful left) and it seemed to be an inconvenience. Didn’t refill drinks either. Had to make a stop for pepto-bismol on the way home.
One of the nicest Chinese restaurants in this part of the state. Small fresh buffet. Good menu great takeout. Super owner manager.
Nice atmosphere but staff not overly friendly. Sweet and sour pork is excellent. Egg rolls heavy and fortune cookies stale.
