I was so glad to see a Caribbean style restaurant in Brunswick. Their dinners are plentiful, you can eat off of one dinner for a couple of days. The rice & peas with cabbage, plantain, & oxtails dinner is delicious, fused with flavor always hot right out of the kitchen. I love the authentic decor & the native music, you feel as if you are in the Caribbean. The prices are great & the restaurant inside & out is clean. Plenty of room to dine inside, great plaza location. Worth a visit when in town.
If you’re in the area, this is a must try! We tried the jerk chicken and pork, the chicken curry, chicken aoup, and the hummingbird cake and it was all awesome! The cabbage was so good, best cabbage flavor ever and the rice and peas are outstanding as well. This is a gem, and we’ll be back!
Location closed but downtown spot open. The landlord of the previous spot is remodeling this shopping center so this spot is closed, but the spot in downtown Brunswick on Glouchester Street (across from Ritz Theatre) is open. Same owner. Same great food Actually better location.
Never would not have try is but had a friend told me about them. Ate there and love it !!! I had sweet and sour pork ,garlic shrimp fettuccine , homemade chicken noodle soup , jerk chicken and jerk beef all awesome !!!!!!!!!! Do not judge them by there looks food is great
Great!. I think this place would get alot more business if it was in a different location. To be honest i was kinda scared to try it because of the outside appearance but the food is amazing. Make sure you get the sweet and sour pork chop and the chicken noodle soup. It was so good we went back the next day and ordered the shrimp scampi and it was awesome too. Dont knock this place till you try it.
Damn Good. Went there today and had lunch….Had the chicken plate cuz the pork wasn’t ready yet.But the guy preparing the cooked pork did give me a sample and I’m here to tell you,It was good!!!!!….The food quality is outstanding,The taste is excellent and the the service is top notch.It doesn’t look like much from the outside but they definitely know what they are doing when it comes to jerk!!! Will go back again!!!!!!
Unexpected Gem in Glynn. If you like Jerk (chicken, pork or even fish) you gotta go see George at the Jerk Shack. All the meats are well seasoned and grilled/roasted just right, but the sides are equally as good. I really don’t even like steamed cabbage (or at least didn’t think I did) but his cabbage and carrots are my favorite veggies in Glynn County. Also, the beans and rice are as good as I have ever had, not to mention the wonderful plantains that he tucks in on the side. And to wash all this down, George has a good selection of juices and drinks that you don’t normally find around these parts. Lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed.This is the knid of place we need more of in the Golden Isles!
