Convenient, obviously; expectations, exceeded.. I have ate at the Millhouse in Jacksonville and Kingsland and even this one before but had been quite a few years ago. Staying at the Holiday Inn made the Millhouse an easy choice. I’ve tried many of the local restaurants on my many trips to Brunswick but have been reluctant to eat the ‘hotel restaurant’. I also was hesitant since the reviews here were negative and their score was low. As nave as I was, onward I went. It was all familiar as the dcor seemed recognizable. The place was relatively crowded and the wait was 45 minutes. The hostess was very friendly and as well as my server, Melissa. The salad was fresh and enjoyable, the entre was equally enjoyable but was more than I could complete, so I chose the remainder to go. I did enjoy the chocolate overload for dessert. Nothing to complain about here, keep up the good work. I’ll be back.
Great place to eat!. The food and staff are awesome! My girlfriends and I always go to Millhouse at least two to three times a week. Each time the environment is great!
My service by Ashley was top-notch and she always seem to be there when I needed something. The bread & dipping oil was awesome as was my Chicken Saltimbocca. I will definitely be back.
Poor Service – Disappointed. Was there June 24th and sat at the bar. Service was slow, disorganized and forgetful. I was surprised because this is my restaurant of choice when in Brunswick. Now I am open to other dining experiences. Bartenders took 20 minutes to take our order, forgot to poor a draft beer for my colleague and when the food arrived, we didn’t get silverware. Fortunately the gentleman next to us offered up his unused silverware. Food was good and as expected. Service, not so much. Disappointed
Substandard. Salad brown & old, steak undercooked, 1/4 of my small fillet was fat, obviously end & not trimmed. Did not deliver my wine so had finished steak before waiter returned. My first time to a mill house passing through. My last!
Pleasantly surprised. Read the bad reviews and considered going elsewhere. But it was so darn convenient to our Microtel hotel, we gave it a try. Went around 6:30 on Friday night and was told we had a 30 minute wait. Went to the bar area instead and got 2 seats at the bar in no time. Friendly patrons and servers! A local told us it was the best place in town and recommended the Shrimp and Grits. Tried and loved it! Also had prime rib that was initially undercooked – but servers had no problem cooking some more and returning promptly. Overall It was one of the most enjoyable dinners we have has while ‘on the road’.
Average food. a little greasy. I’m just going to leave a copy of my message to them here. Snotty greeters can ruin your rep, Millhouse. Good luck with that. So, one of your hostesses escorted me to a table in the bar area of your dining room. Sitting upon the table was a bottle of wine WITH THE FOIL OPENED AND ITS CORK EXPOSED. Sorry about the capitals – I’m not yelling at you, Millhouse – you’ve no formatting for emphasis. I turn to her, concerned, and ask about it. She’s immediately glib and condescending. There was shrugging. There was smirking. There was chuckling.Really, Millhouse?Decorate your tabletops however you see fit. Leave a tenderloin on the table if you prefer. I don’t care. However, if there is something on the table that has clearly been ‘tampered’ with and I ask about it, please don’t disparage me for doing so. I’ve worked as a wine steward and seeing what I’ve been conditioned to view as an ‘unsaleable’ sitting on my table gives me pause. I’m not being silly for asking about it.Being seated by a hostess with an attitude problem, who then mocks me openly for asking a legitimate question, is not what I’m looking for in a dining experience.
