Well known and favored local pizza restaurant. Often cited as the best pizza on St. Simons Island, our visit proved this to be the case. Very difficult to get a seat, but we were happy with quick seating at the bar and had a front row seat to the meticulous preparation of dozens of pizza pies. Carry out is limited to only a few pizzas, with owner Sal more concerned with his dinning-in patrons. The kitchen was closely supervised by Sal himself. He shared with his customers a number of personal stories as made everyone feel at home. No wonder this place receives so much acclaim!
It’s a great place to eat for a Italian restaurant. its exciting when you have you birthdays there. I recommend a good waitress heather she nice and gets your food as fast as she can to get it there. the owner is fun and speaks Italian and they also have great cheesecake I really recommend this place to anyone who likes pizza and who would like a good birthday there and to have fun. Also the owner sal likes to sing for everyone.Dane 9th
Busy but great. The owner is a former boxer from the Bronx and he was talking to everyone and seemed to really care about our experience. The pizza is high quality and cooked in a brick oven. It had a pleasant brown on the bottom of the crust that gave it a homemade taste. There’s a reason they are rated so highly. 6 people, some drinks and salads, $90. Not cheap but this is a tourist town so no surprise there. Will be back!
Small, VERY busy ALL the time, but whoa….. REAL NY pie. Brick oven pizza that rivals the best I’ve ever had…..even in Brooklyn. I have waited an hour to be seated, so you have to be dedicated or lucky if you don’t have a reservation. When folks who are visiting (and ME too!) need a break from fried seafood, I know this place will be a hit….. At least one meal there per trip. Worth the wait!
So glad we found this place while on the island! Delicious pizza … the crust was outstanding & the toppings were plentiful. My husband & I demolished a whole pizza at lunchtime & were so pleasantly full that we had to cancel our dinner plans. Worth the drive!
Excellent pizza. Wife and I stopped for a quick lunch. We each got a slice, which was a pretty decent size for the price. Best low priced lunch we have had in a while.
Maybe my new favorite!. We had heard about Sals from a friend who lives here on the island. However, it was even better than we expected.the pizza was great, The staff was friendly and efficient. Sal made his way around asking how we liked our meal. The have a a more extensive menu then just pizza. We are looking forward to trying other selections on the menu. I may have found a new favorite restaurant. The staff and Sal made you feel at home.
