Service was good. Food is lame. Don’t get the lobster roll, it’s a terrible representation of the real thing. I’d just go to subway across the street.
Horrible Service!. Okay, I’ve been on more than one occasion and each time was worse than the last. Great food, great atmosphere, but horrible service. It seems as though they are only concerned with large parties, because the waitress split the tips. It was to the point I had to go to the bar to get refills of sweet tea because the waitress wouldn’t come to our table. I mean I ordered my buffalo wrap with no tomatoes and two servings of ranch, and I received it with tomatoes and no ranch. After reminding them about the ranch, I still ended up asking the bar tender for ranch too. This wasn’t even a busy night. Great food, great atmosphere, horrible time.
Try. Don’t expect great service- I’ve been when they were busy and dead, and the staff could care less about your existence either way. The food is ok, worth trying once.
Very Impressed!!. Our food and service was terrific! they had a wide variety of beer on tap and the food was great! Would definitely recommend this place!
3rd time is not a charm.. Passing through GA about once a month on business. I try to avoid most chain restaurants, when possible, so Toucan’s was exactly the sort of restaurant/ale house that I like to find. Diamond in the rough, etc…1st visit, fall 2013. Burger & fries, good beer selection. Mark the exit on my GPS so I can return.2nd visit, Jan 2014. Fish & Chips. Taste was fine, but something was a bit off. Serious gastro intestinal distress about an hour after dinner. I don’t have a weak stomach, so it can’t be blamed on operator error. 1st strike.3rd visit, Mar 2014. Long drive. Somewhat late arrival for dinner & a few hours of driving to go, so I didn’t really have time to linger. Ordered an easy burger and fries. Beer was cold and right on time. 40 minutes later, the idiot, redneck, dumbA$$ server came by the table to tell me he forgot to put in the order. So, it’s approaching 10 pm & they had already wasted 45 minutes of my time. Server said he would pay for my burger, but that’s not a real help, when it’s on the expense account anyway. Screw that. I tried to pay for the beer, which they politely refunded (as damn well they needed to) & I got back on the road. So… 45 minutes lost, for no good reason. I won’t be returning, until they have quality wait staff, if ever.
YUK. Understaffed, terrible food! My son ordered a steak for $13.99…it was thin, raw & fatty…the potatoes were cold…we told the waitress the steak was bad & she said yeah…they’re really screwing me up tonight!! Never even offered for the manager to come over or anything….Don’t go..you’ll waste your hard earned money!
A poor version of Appleby’s. Always on the lookout for non-chain restaurants and was hopeful that wefound a good one, since it was so close to our hotel. Sorry to say it was just a typical bar restaurant with so -so fried and tasteless food and slow service. Worth a try but left disappointed.
