Great place to eat for lunch or dinner. I have never had breakfast here but absolutely love the food. I sm a native Southern guy who was raised in Atlanta. There are so few restaurants like this any more. Everything I have eaten has been true to Southern cuisine. Price is very reasonable. I often get takeout so that I have another meal the next day. Catfish, country fried steak, greens, potato salad, cream corn, & cornbread are all favorites of mine. Never had a bad meal here. I drive from downtown just for this treat at least 1-2 times a week.

Well worth it!. From the service to the food to the price, everything in my experience here was great. I have been in the service industry for 20 years and am very critical when dining out and I was very satisfied. Loved the fried chicken and fresh vegetables. Well worth a trip there if you have never been and want good southern cooking. I will definately return.

Near Atlanta’s airport and worth it!. A half-order of fried green tomatoes, small plate of pork, greens and mashed potatos. Great lunch when time was short. Nice waitress! Fresh cornbread. Pork was tender and had different cuts, with a mild sauce to hold it together. Based on the coating on the tomatoes, the fried chicken must be great.Move to Buffalo if you get tired of Atlanta’s heat!

WOW. This place has the best Southern cooking in town! I have noticed a lot of politicians are hanging around this restaurant now and it could have a lot do with Earle Shivers eats a lot of his meals there. I also know he has put Hapeville Georgia on the map with politics, when no one else would dare entering Hapeville. A place you all need to check out.

Southern cooking done right. From the fresh baked rolls to the banana pudding, this restaurant is just like going to grandma’s house. There is nothing simple about it. The fried chicken is both seasoned well and moist, the turkey and dressing very flavorful, and the beans and greens of the day quite tastey. I have eaten here for lunch only and look forward to enjoying their breakfast choices. The price is great and the servings filling!

Not Impressed. I ate here with a friend. I was not impressed with the food. It’s nothing to brag about.
