This place has been around as long as I can remember and lives up to its reputation…what they do, they do well, even at a little on the pricey side These days. We started with a dozen raw, and they were large and tasty – although it was clear that they had been shucked in advance…. they had lost a bit of plumpness. At 24.00 a dozen I expected a bit better. I had the crab cakes, and they were top! As advertised, no filler…. a real mountain of lump crab meat with just the right seasoning. A dash of lemon juice and BAM! Worth the price of entry. My dining partner had the big combo-fried- and it was a huge portion, but a little over cooked… still, I ate a few delicious bites… all in all just as I remembered from my sporadic visits over the years here in Atlanta..I had a couple of NA beers that brought the total (with inclusive 20% tip (not my favorite way to work that incidentally… but house rules explained up front. Whatre ya sposed to do?) all the way up to 115.00. Hmmm…. its all these little knocks that brought what could be a cool experience to just about average… its an institution though, down near the airport, so if you wanna see what things used to be like before Atlanta blew out its seams, this is one of the old standards that has stood the test of time.
