Don’t expect the quickest service, but definitely courteous. If you are health conscious, everything is fried so get a salad. Otherwise, this is southern-fried seafood cooking at its best with a decent river view with plenty of space inside or out.
Beautiful location by the ocean. Very nice nautical decor, inside & outside seating with lines of lights outside. Large windows with great views of the ocean. Great staff, excellent seafood! Very good price that’s commensurate with the dining experience. Very warm atmosphere, clean, plenty of tables and parking. Will visit again. Excuse me….the restaurant is by the river, not by the ocean
High price for small portion of sea food that tasted freezer burned. It has a pretty location but customers are encouraged to feed the wild gators in the adjacent water which is dangerous.
Savannahian. This was my first and last time going to Love’s, I had the crab ball appetizer and it did not taste fresh.. Although in a group we were seated in the outside area with the spiders and spiders webs in the ceiling and the area was never closed off by the outside shades.
Had the calimari it came user cooked and very greasy. Main dis was shrimp and grits. Surely they can’t screw that up boy was I wrong. If you like salt straight from the shaker boy this dish is for you! Very good. It had been a number of years since we visited Love’s, but we went last Saturday and there was a line waiting to get in before it opened. My wife loved the Mahi. The whole family enjoyed the gator, which is great. Also, everyone felt that the white shrimp was amazing. The scallops were the best I have had. The service is very good, but be prepared to wait for your food. I think that the food is worth the wait and I do not understand the bad reviews. My only complaint was that the tilapia was too thin.
Has continued to go downhill in recent years!. Each time visiting, the tables are so wobbly you can hardly eat. One couple had to get the waitress to help them secure theirs. This is an ongoing problem evidently, as I have witnessed it being the same tables each time we visited. I was wondering if the Loves still operated it? Doesn’t seem to be their expert service and quality food anymore. Extremely slow service on numerous visits; hard-to-read menu; stale French fries; Just not the Love’s we had known over the years. Not worth the effort.
