Promptly seated, the casual, bright dining room, filled with colorful Mexican trinkets and displays were festive. Music was faintly playing in the background, contributing to a relaxed atmosphere, with the ability to have a conversation. Admittedly, this was early in the evening, just prior to happy hour. Immediately, I received the traditional, but complimentary corn tortilla chips with salsa. Very light, crisp chips were excellent, accompanied by a mild, but satisfying fresh salsa. Habitually requesting white cheese dip at every Mexican restaurant I visit, Huey Lueys was quick and hot with a rich, smooth texture dip. See my full review at joannsfoodbites.com
Love this restaurant and visit quite frequently. However, called in a order as I do frequently due to having a busy schedule and they indicated that they were not doing to go orders because of Cinco De Mayo. So, profits are apparently more important than customer service to a family who supports them weekly. I hope they do well and that the people who go just because of the event continue to support them because we won’t be back.
