I have visited this restaurant a few times and have never been impressed. On this occasion, our party waited a few minutes at the hostess stand before being acknowledged and seated. The waiter did not seem very concerned about serving us. The complimentary chips and salsa were decent. The salsa had no texture and was watery. We ordered Guacamole, four tacos, and an enchilada plate. The guacamole was not mashed very well, and chunks of avocado were too large and breaking the chips. The tacos were mixed on the plates and had to be switched. The tacos were also mediocre. I ordered a Carne Asada taco and a Grilled Fish taco. The steak looked low quality, but tasted okay. The Grilled Fish taco had a filling that was suspicious, and did not look fresh. The Enchilada plate did not have enough sauce on the enchilada and was dry. Unfortunately, we were never able to get more sauce for the enchilada, or refilled drinks, because the waiter never returned after giving us our food, until he felt like giving us the check. The food and service was sub-par. As cultural as Lawrenceville is, there are definitely better Mexican restaurants in the area. Not recommended. Will not return.
Went for lunch. Good service, good food. The chicken tortilla soup was as good as i have ever had (and i have had alot). The salsa is good as well. Grilled chicken ceasar was good, but the dressing is just ceasar not sw ceasar. Worth a trip if you are hungry for tex mex in downtown lville.
Don’t. Just don’t. This restaurant is very unclean. They did not clean the tables around us from dirty dishes the whole time we were there. The booth we sat in was filthy. Food: Average. Service: Below average. The wait staff was indifferent at best and seemed totally untrained. Don’t support a restaurant with your time and money that doesn’t always do their best. It wasn’t pleasant at all; it was frustrating. Go somewhere else.
We recently moved to L-ville and have lived coast to coast. This is the best TexMex I have eaten east of Denver. Admittedly, being new to Georgia, I have only tried a few but this is by far the best yet. Better than average ambiance, clean, friendly attentive staff and family friendly. Reasonably priced and generous portions. My whole family loved it and we spent the bulk of our time in south west so we are pretty critical. Some reviews mentioned Americanized Mexican food but all food is regional and this is excellent TexMex.
Awful food & cocktails that cost way too much!. I would never have tried this restaurant based upon its reviews, but my husband’s family wanted to go here. The service was decent but I was really disappointed with the food. Both the salsa & cheese dip were so watery. The food didn’t seem very authentic at all. I almost think that Velveeta’s cheese dip is better than what they offered. For the same price point, you can go down the road to Pure & have a meal that is way better. Plus, the margarita that I ordered here was disgustingly sweet (& I like sweet drinks) & contained very little alcohol content. This place is worst than La Parilla & El Porton.
I ate here on a Friday night recently.Nice atmosphere, I like the location and patio seating. The food and drink menu are extensive with lots of options to choose from. The salsa was terrible very bland and watered down.
Bad Food Rude Staff. The staff that we came across that even was unfriendly and rude. The food was not good. I ordered tacos the ground beef had a funny taste. My husband tried it and said it did not taste right. He said maybe I should not eat it and send it back. I started to send it back but listening to another couple that had a problem with their food. I felt like I did not stand a chance with the manager. She was so rude to them. His chicken dish was not seasoned at all. We want go back. I wanted to try this restaurant because it was on Lawrenceville square and hoped it was good. The old stores are where I grew up. 🙁
