My Favorite Italian Food, In the World. Bar None.. I live right off the McDonough town square, and I’ve literally grown up eating Pasta Max about once a month. After coming here for over 15 years (I’m 21 right now), I can say without a doubt that Pasta Max is the best Italian food you’ll find South of Atlanta (IMHO it’s the best I’ve ever had, anywhere). The top-notch pasta is made on site, the staff is awesome, the food is incredible, the prices are fair, and the location is charming! The owner (Doug) is truly the heart and sole of Pasta Max. While I have never spoken to Doug, I will catch glimpses of him in the kitchen at Pasta Max making Chicken Papperdale, Lasagna, and much more! It seems he’s there running the show every night, and every afternoon for lunch. I admire that type of dedication from the owner of an establishment. Doug know’s how to run a restaurant!Ok, lets talk about food now! The rolls at Pasta Max are drenched in butter. If you have a problem with that, that’s ok – just keep quiet, sit in the corner, entertain yourself, and let me eat my heavenly rolls. Word to the wise, while it might be tempting to each 4 or 5 rolls, just eat 2. Save room for the true god stuff! The Caesar salad at pasta max is my favorite! It’s got a real sing to it, and they use quality salad greens, super-good parm, and homemade croutons. It’s the best!Moving on the the entree. Everything is good, seriously. And yet while everything from the Spaghetti, to the Lasagna is fantastic – one dish rises above all the rest… The Chicken Papperdale. It’s got broad pasta, grilled chicken, and a mushroom white sauce that is truly nothing less than nectar of the gods. I could drink that sauce with a straw, no joke ;)At any rate, Pasta Max is a local gem, and I highly recommend it!
GREAT FOOD!. Everything is great at Pasta Max!!!
Everything is GREAT!. Pasta Max is the best kept secret on the south side and worth the drive from the north side. The food is always fresh and delicious. The salad and bread are good and the entrees are amazing! Dessert is wonderful and the vanilla cheesecake is to die for.
Nice cozy spot with great food. By far the best place south of the city. Everything is fresh with great size portions. Try the chef specials, they are awesome. Olive garden can’t come close…
The Best south of Atlanta. You must disregard the negative review of hit or miss. I been going to Pasta Max since it has been open and I have never received a bad meal. Nothing comes close to beating the Culinary Chef ( from New york) that makes fresh Pasta every day. Trust me, if you appreciate good food then your wait on the weekends will be worth it. By the way, the person must have not know the difference between fresh spinach and frozen. This chef would never use frozen spinach. Get real….
