Just passing through town and stopped for lunch. The food was great & reasonably priced. Owner and staff very friendly! We highly recommend! Get the ribs and try the sauces.
Great place to eat. The food here is awesome. We had the ribs, brisket, chicken salad and pork sandwich. The service was outstanding. The owner treated us like family giving us free samples and a free desert at the end of our meal. The environment is casual and you order from the counter but definitely a must if you want good BBQ and great service.
Chicken Salad Sandwich. Very tasty, the crunch is added via presence of pecans.05 Sep, 2014BBQ Bob’s. Georgia Bob’s has made a home in Milledgeville, GA. I like all of their BBQ dishes, especially the ribs and brisket. Their chicken salad is especially tasty. The nuts present add a great texture. Pimento cheese sandwich is a recent addition. It has an unusual hot and spicy taste which may require an acquired taste. The only negative I have is the tiny styrofoam cups for serving some of their sides. A size up would be welcomed. You order in line, receive a number, and are served at your seat.
Sue Howell. I have eaten here many times; never been disappointed! Service is good, folks are friendly, and the food is good.
Fantastic BBQ and inexpensive – great combination!!!
Not bad at all. 2 of us ate at GA Bob’s last week for lunch. Between us we tried the brisket, pulled pork, pulled pork sandwich, chicken salad sandwich (at a BBQ joint?), and the french fries. The prices were fairly reasonable for all. The size of the portions are about what I’d expect for the price. Brisket; sliced THIN and still a little tough, but tasted pretty good with a good smoke ring. Pulled pork (and pork sandwich) was made up of fairly good sized chunks of pork to hold in the moisture and came slightly sauced. It was great without adding additional sauce with a nice smoke flavor. The chicken salad came on regular bread with a slice of tomato and lettuce and was as good if not better than any chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever made or had. The fries are good and what you’d expect from a BBQ joint. We tried 3 of the sauces. The Mild and the Hot are heavy on the apple cider vinegar but all-in-all not bad. The sweet was good but needed a little oomph. We mixed the hot and the sweet and like the result.I’d have to say, without any doubt, from 2 seasoned barbecue judges and competition barbecue cooks, this is the best barbecue restaurant within 50 miles or more.If giving grades, I’d grade:brisket Cpulled pork A-chicken salad A+Fries B+Sauces B
