Authentic. That’s what makes it an exceptional culinary experience.16 Jul, 2014Authentic. That’s what makes it a great Middle Eastern food experience.
Food is ok, service is horrible!!. I happened upon this place after I went to the Pita Palace for a Falafel and realized it was closed for Passover. Ameer’s place was across the street from the same plaza and offered Falafels on the menu so I decided to try them out based on online reviews. I must say that I agree completely with others who have posted about the service. I ordered to go and there was only one other couple in the restaurant waiting on their food. It took 20 minutes for me to get my food and the restaurant was almost completely empty. I only ordered a Falafel Sandwhich and Baba Ganouch. If I didn’t know a turtle could not have reached the counter to make my food, I would have sworn it was a turtle making the food. While waiting, 2 of the employees that worked there appearted to be having an arugment but I had no idea about what because they were not speaking english. They need to save the arguing for the backroom. Customers do not want to be witness to that mess. And lastly, the a**hole cook that has been mentioned in previous reviews. This guy is a complete jerk. I thought I had orderd fried eggplant that would come with feta cheese on it like I get at Pita Palace. It was not until it came out that I realized it was baba ganoush. When I tried to get an understanding from the guy behind the counter about whether or not they had just fried eggplant on their menu, the cook stuck his head out of the kitchen window from the back with a complete scowl on his face and an attitude about himself. He was so rude in the way he talked to me and he had a look on his face as if to dare me to ask for anything other than what he had already made. The employees at this restaurant need a good class in customer service. They were like interacting with a brick wall, and that cook needs to get the boot. A serious JERK #1!!! I could not wait to get home and write this review because it is a story that needs to be told. The food itself was average, and probably a place I would visit again if the atmosphere had been different, but no amount of good food will inspire most people to return to a restaurant if the employees there are jerks. Don’t waste your time or money going to this place. If I could give zero stars I would.
Husband and I were passing through and wanted Middle Eastern food. Excellent experience from appetizer all the way to dessert. Ate falafel sandwich and husband had kofta sandwich. Hummus and grape leaves were great quality. It’s obvious everything is fresh and homemade. Falafel is probably cooked in fresh oil every time because was best I have ever had and we eat Middle Eastern food frequently. Also, we had Kanafa for dessert and it was fantastic! Highly recommend.
This new restaurant is not only the best Meditteranean food I have had, but one of my best meals. The owner-chef took our order and told us whatever we chose would be great, which is normally just a sales pitch or laziness. Luckily for us, his enthusiasm cane out in the taste of his food as well. It is rare in my experince to come across a chef with such passion in a place not requiring reservations and valet. and boy was he ever right! The abundance of flavor in the rice and perfectly cooked lamb, beef and chicken was aost too good to be true. The salad was so fresh and we immediately noticed a difference from other restaurants. We asked what was in it and he told us that he grinds the spices fresh each morning. Now I know why other restaurants (and myself at times) rely on salt and sugar too much. My fianc prefers hot-spicy food and avoids spices/garlic, but she thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to come back the next day. I can see this becoming a go-to spot for us in the future. Service, food and cleanliness all A+/5 stars.
Beef and Lamb shawarma sandwich was very good. Much better than the restaurant’s across the streets. Small place with not a lot of customers. Enjoyed the fresh cucumber tomato salad that came with it.
Um, yes!!! An awesome halaal, truly Mid E/Med eating experience. Mint in my tea, Abdel Halim Hafiz playing, and every plate started filled with good food and was carried away wiped clean! I will certainly be back, iA!!!
