Very tasty Peruvian street food, served by warm & friendly folks. Liquor now served as well, and there’s some outside seating, potentially accompanied by live music. Especially liked the crab empanadas and seviche.
Went there tonight with a pop up Scoutmob deal. We loved it! We had empanadas for an appetizer and they were delicious … The dough was delicious and perfectly cooked, and both of the fillings we got were tasty ($6 for two, you can mix and match). I got the Arroz con Pollo ($13) and it was delicious. The chicken (a whole half of a chicken!) was seasoned very well and very tender. The rice and vegetables were also delicious. My husband had the burger ($13) and liked it, but had severe food envy for my dish! Sangria was good ($3 on special tonight, usually $6). Took home the tequila lime cake … looks delicious, but too full to try it yet! Service was friendly, but could have been a little more efficient. We will definitely be back, and will recommend!
Yummy! A gourmet twist on Latin food! Chef Mike is truly talented. Fried green tomatoes have to be my favorite and you can’t go wrong with any of the arepas!
Really different and really good! I will return.
Still working out the kinks I think.. Open a couple weeks now, I stopped by to find them just opening up for lunch.I went with the Arepa de Pabelln (described as shredded beef, black beans, cheese & plantains). What came out was hard cubed beef, black beans, and cheese with a smothering of chimichurri sauce. It was fine, but I would have preferred the shredded beef and certainly the plantains. Feeling like something sweet, I was teased by the flauta or mousse from the menu… only to find my option was tres leche or rice pudding. Decided on the rice pudding, which was pretty soupy with the predominant taste being cinnamon. Not bad, just nothing special.I really am intrigued by the menu, so I suspect I’ll go back once they maybe get up to speed.
A great find!. This is a great new neighborhood restaurant in Decatur. The food was excellent and good value for money. We tried two types of arepas (one with chicken and the other with beef). Both were perfectly delicious — tasty and with just the right sauce. The accompanying salads were fresh and just the right amount. The place has just been open for a short time — I anticipate long lines in the future. We will definitely be back.
