The just right place. We have gone to Las Brasas nearly every month since they opened and have always been pleased. The menu is limited, but every item is well done. The grilled chicken is excellent (especially with the black mint sauce). The vegetarian options are also superb (the red beans with pico salsa and veggie wrap are sooooo good). It is a small place set up mostly for take out, but on nice evenings there is nothing more pleasant than to sit outside, enjoy the friendly service and the delicious and nutritious food. We sure keep coming back.
Yum – easy takeout – nice folks. Don’t be fooled by the firetruck red, painted cinder block hut that is Las Brasas. You won’t be disappointed with the half or quarter chicken with a few side dishes. I often get takeout here (takeout is the only option because the joint is tiny – FYI – unless you’re okay with sitting outside on a wrought-iron patio table) when I’m wanting a healthy takeout option. The salad with rotisserie chicken is divine.
Nobody showed up for my reservation. I had reservations at 1:30 p.m. today. I went and the place was closed. No one was there. Knocked for a few minutes. Called a few times but I just kept getting the machine and mailbox is (always) full so I could not leave a message. What happened today was very upsetting and disappointing. If anyone from Las Brasas reads my message, you can contact me to explain. You have my contact info which you took when I made the reservation last week.
Wow!. I got 1/4 white + pinto beans on 12/14, drove 30 miles out of the way and bought a cooler to take a whole bird home on 12/15. I’m thinking that this is what brought down the Aztec Empire – everyone was eating chicken. Don’t miss the pico d galo, perfect in the pinto beans. The owners are so nice that it brings out the best is the clot of customers waiting for their orders. It would be nice if they could do an inside dining area, but this food is wonderful.
Seems like the rotisserie chicken comes out specific times. 11;30, 3:00, 5:00 and 7. Had the chicken salad sandwich instead, it was delicious. My wife said the sweet potato fried were the best she’s ever had!
Wow… Best chicken in Decatur!!! The chicken sandwich is the best I have ever had! 5 out of 5!!!
