I have always been partial to Martin’s for the best breakfast biscuits in the area, but recently I have been stopping here once a week. Their biscuits are just the right size and scratch made. This morning I had the chicken biscuit with gravy, which was fantastic. The gravy has excellent flavor and seasoning and goes so well with the biscuit. Their barbecue is pretty good, but they definitely do breakfast very well.
Not sure why only 82% of people like JRs. Maybe they didn’t like ribs 🙂 I thought everything was great. The waitstaff was very attentive, the ribs were terrific & the sides were fresh and tasty. Try the Brunswick stew. That was quite good. I had fried okra which was fresh. My wife had the sweet potato casserole. I tried it and it was good.
Classic Southern Fired Resturant. With a BBQ twist that is. Just like the standard southern places, they cook the vegtables to mush, and have great sweet tea, but this has the BBQ as well. It’s one of the few places you can get the full compliment of Southern sides with your BBQ, but there are drawbacks. The BBQ is ok, but nothing to write home about. If I really have a hankering for BBQ, I go elsewhere.
Love this place. Went this morning for breakfast. Everything was great, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, and muffins. Service was friendly and quick.
Good country food. I went to J R’s recently. The coffee, biscuits, blueberry muffin, sausage, and grits were all excellent. Service was excellent. The scrambled eggs were just okay. I will go back there for breakfast, again.
Breakfast is the best meal here and great prices too. Veggies are average or slightly better. Onion rings….strings are pretty tasty.
