By far the best Chinese food in the city! I’m a food snob that knows a lot about international foods, and I have to say that Fung Mei is the real deal! From the moment I walked in the door, I was treated with nothing but courtesy. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food is more than enough to share. I even received a visit from the owner, in which he inquired how I enjoyed my dinner. I’m sorry that someone felt that this restaurant doesn’t like black money, because that’s not true. When I visit, I’m treated like family; and yes, they do like green money…. race has nothing to do with it.

I have been around Atlanta for many years and have eaten at all the great Chinese restaurants from the past. Honto’s, Little Sichuan, and, the old Fung Mei just to name a few. I have travelled China extensively and had the best of the best there. My wife is from China, so tonight I decided to take her to Fung Mei at their new location on Pleasant Hill. Terrible Terrible Terrible. Every dish we ordered was TERRIBLE. Too much salt, too much salt, too much salt. The wait staff seem to have better things to do than to worry about customers. The tea duck was old and miserable. The Mapo Tofu was a combination of excessive salt and MSG. What I wanted to be a great family experience turned into a hurry up and get the heck out of there. Now I understand why the parking lot is almost always empty when i drive by there. We will stick to the little food court at the Great Wall Chinese super market, Sorry Guys

Bad experience. I would not reccomens this place just based on attitudes of the managers. I ordered a simple dish of beef fried rice which I swear had 5 pieces of not very flavorful beef and a dry rice with few vegetables. I complained and was told that I would have to pay for it, They offered a substitute dish but att hat point, I said I would just stick with the very average soup I had. They said I had consumed half the rice – we had 3 other adults in our party and they confirmed I had left probably 75%. I argued and they threatened to call the police. I frankly do not lose my temper often and I was steamedThe have poor customer service skills. For a lousy $8, they could not bend. My son and daughter in law reccomended it and after the rude way I was traeated they will not go backArroganat and sarcastic management and overproced food as well. Stay away!!!

Superb Chinese. Hands down – best dumplings in Atlanta. Go towards the back of the menu to get to the authentic Sichuan menu. Braised fish in chili is incredible – a must for anyone who likes spicy! If you like spicy, be sure to tell the waiter to have the chef make the spicy dishes as they should be made – otherwise they may tone the heat down for American palates. Wait staff is usually pretty good about asking though. Our family loves the General Tso’s chicken. One of their house specialties is the Hot Braised Chicken – won’t find anything like it at any other restaurant. Try the Pan Fried Chinese Rolls too!Owner has been in the kitchen since they originally opened in Chamblee and still oversees all the food prep to this day. Henry, the owner’s son, is always found on site and the combination father/son team ensures consistent quality.

Love it. Today I am making my third trip there in the past two weeks. Love the food and very nice environment.

I LOVE FUNG MEI! Food is always served hot and the food taste really fresh. I love coming here with my family. I am Asian and my husband is African American, I love how they have a huge selection for both my husband and I can enjoy. I love more of the spicy foods and my husband does not. Their service was great also. The decor made me feel really comfy like I was in my own home. I will continue to take my family there for sure!

Good stuff. A colleague of mine told me about this place–so a good friend and I went. We have frequented many a chinese restaurant before, and were impressed with this Mandarin chinese fare–the manager was very generous telling us all about the food which was on–or off–the menu. He was quite friendly and I had no trouble understanding him at all. In fact, his english was nearly perfect, and same with the staff up front. The food smelled and tasted fresh–they served large portions and it was delicious. I really like what I see of the many dish choices. We will be back!
