From the paintings of the cherry blossom trees to the quaint little pieces of Japanese furniture, the place oozes of authenticity. It has the characteristic of a small scale eatery in the alleyways of Kyoto. The soft Japanese music welcomes you in with its soothing tones. As soon as we walked in, we noticed that they had Takoyaki, a famous Japanese dish, featured on a white board that was perched on an easel. The hostess explained that they have recently introduced some new menu items and since their printed menus have not yet been updated, they have presented them on the easel. We first tried Takoyaki at a popular Japanese fast food chain named Gindaco. In Japan, they have Gindaco in all the major cities and is a very popular quick service restaurant. With a crispy outer layer and a soft interior loaded with pieces of octopus, pickled ginger and green onions, takoyaki is a must have if you come across a restaurant that makes it well. So we ordered the takoyaki, along with a deep fried oyster maki, salmon avocado roll, spicy salmon roll, spicy scallops roll and a spicy tuna roll. Our order of Takoyaki arrived rather quickly. We were pleasantly surprised at how close it was to the ones we have had in Japan. The exterior was nice and crispy and the interior was loaded with chunks of octopus and ginger. The sauce and the bonito flakes topped off the dish perfectly. Our maki rolls took a long time to be brought out. But we could see that the place was busy and they were doing their best. So we waited patiently. Our patience was rewarded well because every single roll we ordered was fantastic. The fried oyster roll was the best. With it crunchy oysters adding the perfect texture to the soft rice and the outer layer of tobiko. In all its simplicity, we also loved the salmon avocado roll. All in all, this was a fantastic find. The service was great and the food was exceptional. It was very authentic, fresh and great value for money. I will definitely be a regular at Miwa.

Hands down the Best tasting Sushi in the Savannah Area.. I’ve been going to Miwa’s since they’ve opened, and think I’ve selfishly held off writing this review in the hopes that it would remain an undiscovered gem. However, looks like word has gotten around that this place is the real deal, and I can’t agree more.I’ll keep this review simple, because the ratings speak for itself. As a small establishment with maybe 20 total seats, the ambience is fantastic both for lunch and dinner. The sushi rice is cooked and packed perfectly, and the selection of fish is impressive and always super fresh. Hands down the best tasting Sushi in the Savannah area. Been to a lot of sushi spots in the area and this has to be in the top tier just from the cleanliness and quality. Only 1 down side: The wait is long they definitely take their time making it but it is worth the wait. This is not a quick in out fast sushi to go place.
