Great jerk chicken! All their meats are well marinated and extremely flavourful. I prefer the Pooler location because you can dine in and the atmosphere is good. However, I feel that the portion sizes in the Savannah location are much bigger. Overall, one of my favourite places for a hearty meal.
I first went here when I moved to Pooler. I’ve had Jamaican before and I love the seasoning and spices that go with it. I wasn’t prepared for our experience, though. It was not busy so we were seated by a very nice gentleman who took our drink order immediately and also offered help with the menu. This is a nice change as Jamaican food is not the norm for most people. We placed an order with the help of the waiter and enjoyed an appetizer while we waited. The food came out and was delicious. Absolutely great. It wasn’t just thrown together, it was prepared. The owner came out and asked about our experience and had a very pleasant conversation with him. Can’t wait to go back. 6 out of 5 stars.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant! The fun, bright colors on the walls, a Bob Marley flag hanging and Jamaican music playing is a nice atmosphere. There is plenty of seating which is a plus because their restaurant on Waters in Savannah is super small. I’ve been here a few times and gotten the sampler plate which allows you to get three of the meats and two sides – this is nice so you can try multiple foods. They also have ox tail which isn’t as bad as it sounds. 😉 I’ve also gotten the open face Bob Marley burrito and it was huge! I mean seriously, if you’re really hungry this is a lot. And it’s good! Oh, and the mango juice garnished with a pineapple slice and a cherry is DELISH!! I’m not sure if it was the owner or the manager that has been there each time I’ve gone but he is seriously the nicest person! So sweet, talkative, sincerely wants to make sure you have a good dining experience and great with kids! He played peek-a-boo with my little one and he loved it. Try this place!!!
Saw this little gem from US 80 & decided to stop in. So glad I did! Be sure to try the ultra-refreshing pineapple-ginger beverage. They should bottle and sell this! The jerk chicken was reminiscent of Jamaica, but I would have preferred a bit more spice. All the same, a handy bottle of Scotch bonnet pepper sauce on the table added the zing I needed. My lunch was a bit pricey for a solo meal $20 before tip), but for the occasional splurge, worth it! I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
The open face Bob Marley burrito is awesome! Pour a little jonkandoo pepper sauce on it and chow down. Excellent staff! Quick service with a smile. Great music!
