My favorite in Augusta!. I eat here once a week with my family because we love it so much! We have been doing this for years. The seafood is great, the ham and cheese poboy is actually just like the muffalatta t the New Orleans25 Nov, 2014Seafood Crepes. Delicious! I eat the crepes once a week and always get the house avacado salad dressing.

I read all the bad reviews and was hesitant to try this place but I must say, the food was very good and reasonably priced. I rate the service at about a B- but the food made up for it. We tried the oyster Rockefeller for an appetizer. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but the oysters themselves were good quality. They could have baked it a little longer. I like a crispy crust on top. The jambalaya was great, very think and hearty. We tried the Cajun seafood platter for the main course with fried oysters, fried catfish, grilled shrimp and grilled scallops. The catfish was a nice thick filet with great breading. The oysters were a good size as well and not over-fried. You could actually tell it was an oyster. The grilled shrimp and scallops were fantastic. They had a great grilled flavor. Overall we were impressed and will definitely come back.

Doesn’t live up to its reputation.

There’s much better.. With the exception of very few things on the menu, the food is mediocre and overpriced. It was better in years past but the quality has greatly declined. There are much better restaurants in Augusta and you are better off spending your money at one of them.

Terrible. This place was really awful. Way overpriced and the service was nice but completely in the dark about all of the food options. I’ve had plenty of po’boys, I would rather eat a popeyes po’boy than a French Market Grill Po’boy.

Used to be….. This was our fav place to eat 4 or more yrs ago. What happened? It is hit or miss now, and not sure what was going on last night. We had a coupon, but it was not worth whatever we did save. The seafood gumbo was good, not great and not hot. The bread was good, butter almost melted in pkg, salad ok, not cold. tea had not mint leaves. as it usually does, crab chops had dif taste and the pot and crabchops may have been left over from lunch, the way they looked and tasted, the tea was in a coke glass, is it usually in a coke glass? The glass was not a big deal. The waiter had no socks on, golf type shoes, dirty pants, and did not say much. Oh well.

Never Again. I keep telling myself it will get better…but it doesn’t.Went to FMG last night with our monthly dinner group. What a mistake. First off, I have been to this restaurant multiple times (not by my choice) and it is always a let down. The service is so poor and the atmosphere LOUD.To start the night most of us had salads, I mean how hard is a salad, apparently very hard. The lettuce was far from crisp to say the least. Then we placed our orders. Well….. the orders took forever to come out, and not all at once, two orders were not placed by the server and so we waited even longer. The food was also NOT HOT when it did make it to the table.I ordered the shrimp and grits special. What a mistake. Literally it was grilled shrimp (maybe 1/2 dozen) and grits. There was no sauce or seasoning. It was utterly bland and tasteless. I ended up dumping half a bottle of tiger sauce (condiment on the table) on it to serve as a sauce. The biggest shock was when I received the bill and realized I just paid 20$ for it. I could make that at home for half that with fresh shrimp and fresh grits! Overall, with Masters week coming up I would recommend that any one in search of a good meal bypass FMG and look else where. Frog Hollow has shrimp and grits for 18$ that is seved FRESH/HOT/ and with local produce, homemade sausage, and a great ambience. Also in the same plaza as FMG are several great places all of which I highly recomend – Bistro 491, Calverts, and Takosushi.
