I dislike giving bad reviews but after my experience at Fujiyama, I am left with not other option. The service was lacking in so many areas. Our server was slow in greeting us, which was puzzling since he had only two other tables. Once he did greet us, he seemed to not care one way or the other if we had a good experience. The food finally arrived and we were less than impressed. Not a good presentation, very bland, I think I could do better at a fast food place. It was pricey for the quality and amount of food. I’m honestly not sure how they stay in business. Since we will not be returning, we’re still on the search for some decent Japanese food in Augusta. This is definitely not the place.

Great Food. I highly recommend Fujiyama. Amazing food, sake, prices and chiefs, one of the best hibachi restaurants I have dined at around the United States. I also enjoyed the fact that the chief did not throw food in the air to catch nor tried to squirt the sake in peoples mouths. It was a wonderful dining experience and everything was delicious.

Ehhh…. Great service, not so great food. You can do a lot better for Japanese in Augusta

A bit pricy. A bit pricey for what you are getting. Average Sushi and Average Hibachi.

Some good. Some bad.. My g/f and I went there on New Year’s Eve (2011) at about 4pm. There was no crowd when we arrived. While it wasn’t our first visit, it had been a while since we were there. Most of my observations from this visit are small things, but taken together, they leave a negative impression.First, I didn’t remember (or perhaps didn’t previously notice) the awful decor. We kept expecting Robert Irvine to show up and tear the place apart. My chair didn’t have proper support in the seat, the carpet was dark and dirty (I know it’s a busy night, but it wasn’t crowded when we arrived so clean the floor), and… paneling? Seriously? Also the wooden slats above the koi pond are rotting. It just has a feel that the owners just don’t care about basic, ongoing maintenance. On our previous visits the food was very good. Not this time. I ordered the tuna tartar as an appetizer. The entire dish was drowned in sesame oil. The main course wasn’t much better. I ordered filet mignon with lobster and shrimp. Our chef started with the seafood in the center of the grill–the hottest part. So the obvious happened: Our seafood was massively overcooked. Shrimp, lobster tail, scallops, all overcooked. Fortunately the fried rice, vegetables, and filet made it out quite well.On a positive note, the servers were attentive and timely even considering the rush of the evening, and our orders were presented correctly.Bottom line: It will likely be a while before I return. If I want dark, smokey, and noisy with bad food, I’ll go to a bar.

Excellent Sushi. I’m not a big fan of the hibachi show tables. They’re just weird. I’ll never know why people enjoy that kind of thing…. anyway I digress. The sushi is always perfect everytime I eat here. We always sit in the sushi bar. The sushi chefs are always very entertaining to talk to. The service is usually pretty good. The bill for me & my husband having 2 salads, 2 clear soups & 3-4 rolls comes to around $40 every time. Can’t beat this place for sushi!

We have eaten at every single Japanese steakhouse in Augusta and Aiken. Fujiyama may not have the nicest facilities, but their food is by far the best.
