Food was good. Staff was friendly but service was very slow and it seemed only moderately busy on a Thursday night.
My wife and I ate at this Olive Garden shortly after we moved to Augusta a little over a year ago. We were disappointed in the food and service. Everywhere else we have lived, the Olive Garden has been one of our favorites. It has always been classy and professional. Because our first experience at this location was bad, it took us a long time to go back. We went this week, and we were severely disappointed again. The staff was very unprofessional. Two or three of the staff were smoking right in the doorway as we walked in, and the host barely even spoke to us when we got in the door. He also didn’t have his shirt tucked in…not really a big deal, but not what you would expect at the Olive Garden. The food tasted like it had been frozen and then heated up in a microwave, even their normally delicious breadsticks. The salad had more dressing than salad. There was a terrible odor the whole time, like the carpets had not been cleaned in 30 years. We will definitely not be going back.
The nerve. I attended Olive Garden recently and had a friend order the chicken salad and she asked if the chicken was breaded or had flour on it, the waitress responded that she did not. when the chicken came my friend took a few bites and within 2-3 minutes was not feeling well (allergic to Gluten) she flagged the waitress and asked if she could ask the cooks about the chicken which the waitress did and responded with yes they use flour on their grilled chicken salad. What ensued seem to be the end to the argument. My friend asked if she could get the meal taken off the menu since she could not eatand only took about 2-3 bites it and the witress happily obliged. My friend was not feeling well and on her way out the manager stopped to discuss that she needs to specify that she can’t eat gluten because the waitress doesnt know any better. My friend’s husband at that point was annoyed with the manager and asked her who uses flour on grilled chicken and furthermore the menu description says grilled chicken not floured chicken the manager said that it was not her fault or none of the staff’s fault because the client did not specify the no flour. The manager seemed a little unprofessional when she decided to make a scene in her own restaurant the smarter thing would have been to ask him and her to step into the office and not give everyone a free show with their meals
