Beautiful setting outside and nice environment. Service was great. Food did not strike me as better than OK. I never had hash before so I didn’t know what to expect but it was ok.
Yummy Turkey. Had the small plate Turkey for lunch and it was Great! Just the right size for lunch. The hash was unreal good! No knife provided with the two large turkey pieces, but not required it was so tender and juicy! My only suggestion would be to label the sauces, it would be nice to know!
Best hash ever. I’m a local Augustan. Sconyer’s has the best hash ever. I’ve had hash from A LOT of different places and people and this is by far the best. Their BBQ is hit or miss. It’s never my favorite though, just OK-pretty good. That hash though….
Good Atmosphere TERRIBLE FOOD.. This is NOT BBQ. This place does not deserve to be be considered a BBQ resteraunt. They serve you this unappetizing shredded up pile of mess on rice they call hash. It tastes aweful. Anyone who gives this place more than 2 stars is obviously trying to do Sconyers a favor. I believe Sconyers is padding it’s own reviews to make up for all TRUE one star reviews from real customers.
Horrible hash. The hash has such a horrible odor I could not choke it down…it smells like it is half tripe or something worse….
So disappointed!. This was my first visit to Sconyers. Have been wanting to eat there since moving to the Augusta area several years ago. My husband loves bbq and it was our anniversary so we decided to finally give it a try. Several people told us not to waste our money and maybe we should have read the reviews before going, but i like to form my own opinion! Should have listened! Loved the atmosphere of the building and walking up, the smells were amazing. Nice smokey smells outside the building. Must have been fake though because didn’t have that smokey smell inside and none of the food tasted smoked. The shredded beef was tough and took a while to chew one bite. Didn’t try a second bite. The chicken breast were tasteless and so dry it almost choked me. Pulled pork was tolerable as long as i poured on lots of the bbq sauce. best part of the meal was the ribs. Not the best and definitely didn’t taste smoked, but they were tender and meaty. The hash over rice was horrendous but the coleslaw and potato salad weren’t too bad. The loaf of white bread placed on the table was a bit of a shock and no butter, What the heck is that about. Come on, at least put out some decent rolls and butter. Don’t understand how this place stays in business. It’s a nice place with a rustic atmosphere that we love and could be great if they could learn how to truly smoke their meats and stop serving that gross hash!
I was very excited to go but was sadly disappointed, The pulled pork and the ribs were good but that really weird hash stuff Did not taste well. The service was well. I would not recommend this place to my friends.
