Going down hill fast!. TERRIBLE service at the Richmond Hill location today! The staff is constantly seating people without warning them that they are majorly behind! We sent my daughter’s plate back because it was undercooked and never got ANYTHING back! My other daughter NEVER got her complete meal. The waitress was indifferent! The couple one one side of us finally asked to have their order put in to-go plates bc it was taking so long! The couple on the other side sent their food back, too! The manager was so over his head and they were still seating customers as if all was ok! I paid my complete bill plus tip but I WON’T VISIT JALAPENO’S AGAIN!
Jalapeno’s of Richmond Hill. I went to Jalapeno’s Mexican Grill (JMG) for a drink and chips on Saturday, June 6.29.2013. I sat at the bar for nearly 4 minutes while a man dressed in black and was standing behind the bar was playing with is phone and totally ignoring me. Then he put his phone down and walked away. Another 2 or 3 minutes went by before the barmaid appeared and asked me what I wanted. She didn’t even look at my driver’s license when I offered it to her. During the 6 minutes I waited to be attended to by someone, waiters and waitresses were properly attending to their customers at tables. After getting my drink and chips, the barmaid totally ignored me again and didn’t even ask if I needed anything. I decided on another drink and it wasn’t until another couple sat down at the bar that I could ask for that drink because the barmaid never returned. One of the other waiters had to go get her from the back of the restaurant. After we all got our drinks, the barmaid again ignored us and never came back to ask the couple if they needed anything once they received their food.I’m not sure how the bar is ran, but it appeared the waiters and waitresses on the floor were more attentative to their customers than the barmaid was to the 3 of us sitting at the bar.Oh yeah, the barmaid had only 1 table to worry about and it was located in the corner and off to the side of the bar. I know for now on that when I got to JMG for drinks and chips, I’m not sitting at the bar. I’m going to take up a table for 4 people where I know I’m recognized and attended to properly.
Service was horrible food was worse. All you say is I had bad dining experience Here the service was horrible it was worse. I will not go back here. There are two halfway decent Mexican restaurants not two minutes down the road.

Hadn’t had any problems there until today. I ordered the sopes without sour cream and repeated the special request before the server walked away and said that she got it. When my food came out, it had sour cream and let her know of it. She took my plate back to the kitchen where they scraped off MOST of the sour cream and covered the sopes with a bunch of lettuce to cover the evidence. The wait service was good as usual, no problem there.
Awful service… Wasnt satisfied at all.. Slow service, took almost 8 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. Chips tasted like pure oil, and the fish tacos i ordered went back twice. They were sloppy and plain tasting..no seasoning. It seems like all the staff is too busy talking to one another than paying attention to the needs of there table. Margaritas were good, i had several of them to wash down the plain tasting food. As soon as i asked for the fish tacos to be taken off my bill, waitress’s mood instantly changed. Def will NOT be coming back!
Great service. Complimentary chips and salsa were really good. Food came out in less than 10 minutes and it was really good. Very reasonable prices. We’ll return 🙂
