Went In to buy desert for my elderly mother. Because I wasn’t buying full meal, I was ignored like the plague. Service awful.

  • Sandy

Sandy. Love this place. It took me a while to realize where it was, but now I know and I keep coming. The food is not play, play. This is real soul food. I really can’t pin point one thing because everything I have eaten is great.Keep up the excellent food and service. Oh! please have a flyer with the menu would be great. Especially for advertising.

Great Food but NOT located in the West End!. Ok, first off everybody keeps saying that they are located in the west end and I’m afraid people wont find it if they look in the actual west end. The restaurant is located on the WEST SIDE of Atlanta on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, off of 285 West. 1 light down from the intersection of MLK and Holmes Dr. In the same strip mall as the unemployment office. Now for the food:Freakin Awesome! Their macaroni & cheese, broccoli/rice casserole and dressing is waaaay better than Big Daddy’s and Q-time. The servers are very nice and always laugh and talk with you. Also, they are very inexpensive. Most places charge you over $10 for a beef rib dinner, their’s is only $7.50. Their baked talpia is really good and they stack their pieces. If you want a heavy plate of good soul food for well under $10, 285 is the spot!

West Ends BEST Kept Secret!. Tired of burgers, subways, chinese food and the like? Looking for GREAT soul food at an AWESOME price? Well look no further! 285 West is it! The food is incredibly good and CHEAP! I don’t know how they do it! Turkey legs, fried chicken, fried whiting, tilapia, ribs are some the meat options, with choice sides of yams, mac & cheese, black eyed peas, spinach, corn breat dressing, the list goes on! And free cornbread on top of it all! All for under $8.00! The location is what’s to be expected of the West End, but you definitely won’t regret going. There is even a reasonable sit down area after you place your buffett style meal. One hint, if you are into fish like I am, prepare a few minutes for them to cook it fresh for you. I LOVE this place! Oh, I’m hungry! I think, I’ll head over now! 🙂

Maria. The food is very good, and they put aplenty on your plate. I enjoy getting food from there.

  • KEKE

OH MY GOD. This in one of the Soul Food place in the ATL…..The food is always fresh and hot. Service is fast and friendly every time; the place is always spotless. I really wish they had more than one location, I guess it would not be 285 west than….maybe they can have a 85 south or something. The only thing I do not like, is the size of the place, It should have a bigger space.psthe peach cobler is to die for
