NEVER AGAIN!!!. I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve come here twice, once in March and again on Mother’s Day. In March it was just okay… I would give 3 stars if I’d reviewed it back then. The only thing that was good each time was the performer. Other than that…. if their service continues the way it is now they probably won’t be around much longer. Hostess – Each time, we had to wait 10 minutes or more to be acknowledged and seated. On Mother’s Day, when the host made it back to the front after a long wait, he actually walked right past us and started talking to someone else. Not a patron waiting to be seated, they were holding a general conversation. When he finally acknowledged and seated us we weren’t happy with where we were seated. He told us that we’d have to speak to the General Manager…. Little did we know that our night would get worse… General Manger His name is Day (not Gay his words) he came over as if we were bothering him. Before we could even tell him the issue he said The host already told me and there is only one more table where we can put you. Ill have someone move you He walked away before we could say anything then we waited about 20 minutes (during this time the waitress had come over to take our drink orders and during this 20 minute wait to move tables she still hadnt returned with our drinks) and finally got another servers attention and asked for the host. We watched her go and get him and it took him a while to make it back to us. When he came, we asked if Day had spoken to him about moving us. He said Yes, but you cant have that table. I already told him that soooo…. When was someone going to come and tell us???? Waitress The waitress brought our drinks probably 30 to 35 minutes after we ordered them and still hadnt brought us menus. It took her another extended amount of time to bring the menus and even after that to come back and take our order. We arrived at about 7 pm and didnt get food until almost 9 due to the constant delays. The waitress brought my friend the wrong wine and when she told her that it wasnt what she ordered, she told her that she could get her another drink but couldnt take that one off of her bill. My friend objected and she told her that shed send the General Manager over. When he came back he smacked his lips and said Not you all again. What is it this time We are all very taken aback by his response. When my friend explained to him what occurred he blamed it on her and said Are you sure you ordered the right thing? Maybe you dont know how to order wine WOW…. So my friend began to educate him on her wine knowledge to prove that she did in fact know what she ordered and she did in fact know that she was given the wrong thing. He cut her off saying he didnt have time for that and he would have the waitress send her the other wine. At this point, I was ready to leave but my friends wanted to stay because the performer was nice. When we did finally get our food, it was just okay. Nothing special about it at all. The waitress sat each meal in front of the wrong person and my friend was still charged for the wine that she was sent incorrectly. I will NEVER set foot in Acoustix Jazz again. They dont deserve patronage with the horrible service that they offer. There are other Jazz lounges in Atlanta that I can give my business to. I wonder if the owner knows what type of terrible service his customers are receiving?
A Night of Love Stories with Hank Stewart. It was Thursday night and there was a burning in my soul as I listen to the rhythm and the pulse of the drums that beat a tale of a heart paralyzed by the question of you…….(My shameful attempt to vibe off this soulful fusion of music, love notes, and genius). The Highlight of my day featured:Hank Stewart’s Love Stories Live atAcoustic Jazz Restaurant & LoungeWe will save the best for last and talk briefly about the establishment.Acoustic Jazz Restaurant & Lounge is located at 840 Marietta Street , Atlanta, GA. The parking is ample for a place of its size. From the note I saw, It can hold about 160 people. The seating was not great for a large crowd. The table I was sitting at had my back to the stage. There was not really enough room between the seats to pull the chairs out. I managed to position myself so I did not get a crook in my neck when turning around to watch the performance. I loved the decor and the atmosphere…. just had that slight problem with the seating arrangements. I would like to say that the food and drinks made up for it, but the server never came back after she bought me the water. The food looked great on the plates around me. They really seemed to enjoy it. In all fairness, I was seated at a large table for our Jazz meetup group and maybe that confused the server- So we will give them the benefit of the doubt. I will be back to try the food-Hopefully.I do want to say that the hostess was very friendly and the owner very polite. Now on to the Show………..Hank Stewart & The Muse gave their guest one Hell of a Show! One of the most memorable pieces was performed with Melvin Miller called Chocolate. It was a delightful tease of sensual poetry and playful humor. The Muse fused perfectly with the spoken word performance. Their renditions of some of our favorite songs were incredible-well except for one. I understand the difficulty in trying to emulate Rachelle Ferrell and Will Downings Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This , so I will not be too hard on you for missing the high notes. I just want to go on record saying that Daisy is the business. She needs her on show. Spoken word and a great voice. Atlanta, Watch out for Daisy-She is NEXT!So in my humble opinion:Hank Stewart’s Love Stories Live atAcoustic Jazz Restaurant & LoungeMOVED STELLA TO GROOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stella got her Groove on this Thursday Night. Please check out the next performance of Hank Stewart. Go to His White Linen Party. Go to the Acoustic Lounge and Have a Groovy Time-SEE YA THERE!Tell them Stella Groove sent you! http://www.stellagroove.com
Horrible Experience. I went to this restaurant for a birthday party. The side of the side of the table that my husband and I were sitting on received their food after everyone else was finished eating. The waiter never put my husbands dinner order in. The fried green tomatoes were mushy and flavorless. The crab cakes were merely cheap salmon patties and were promptly returned. In place of the crake cakes I ordered the jumbo shrimp which looked very appetizing however the shrimp were so bad that I had to go to the restroom to spit it out and I returned that meal as well. The manager never came to apologize and my husband and I ate birthday cake for dinner. In addition, the service was super slow. I will never return.
The food is entirely too pricey for the quality. I’m not a picky person at all but I was not impressed to saw the least. Service was sub par as well. On a good not the live music was the only thing that kept me calm. Long story short… I wouldn’t was my time or money again.
More jazz and cocktails. Came back again last Saturday night to hear the band…they were off the chain good. had some tapas type food which was good and the cocktails were stiff.09 Nov, 20122nd time there. I went to Acoustix on Saturday night Nov 3rd and that band was killin.. I heard the Dean d’merritt Jazz Tribe and they had a great vocalist. These guys play the real thang. Man, everyone who digs jazz should hear these guys. upright bass, piano, drums, sax, and a great jazz guitarist. the food is pretty good too – i had calamari. Oh…and the cocktails were mixed on the strong side which is always good.
Me and some friends attended last night for the first time to celebrate my mom birthday. The food was delicious! Everything else was terrible. I called to make a reservation and received a call back promptly. I was told there would be a $5 cover charge per person to reserve a table that must be paid upfront because it would be a packed house. When I got there it was no cover at the door and, plenty of available tables. I was also told there would be a $35 charge if I wanted to bring in a cake or cupcakes. Not cool. I get there that night to find out there are 2 sides. Same name. If u want to go to the other side there is another $7 cover that must be paid. The drinks and service was horrible. We waiting 35 min to receive our check. Decor was ugly they had card tables and mix match chairs. The band was good. Overall not even a mediocre experience. I would not ever attend again! Hated it!!!!
LOVE the Jazz, and that is where the good ends. DO NOT arrive and expect to eat in a timely fashion. The place is understaffed. When the good arrived it was cold. They get one more try before they are off my list for good.
