I can see why the fried chicken at the Busy Bee was voted some of the best in Atlanta. The chicken was fried perfect – the skin was nice and crispy and the inside hot and juicy. There is a good selection of sides. I recommend the mac and cheese. Now for two small dark meat pieces with sides, $14 is not cheap. But it is very good and a place you should give a try
Meat & Three for Me. Busy Bee Caf has been around for a while and has garnered several awards and mentions in various lists as some of the best fried chicken in the country. They dont lie.We went for lunch and it was busy, but we were able to score a table pretty quickly. The place is really a large diner with a counter and stools and several tables and booths. Service was quick and friendly.Typical of southern restaurants, there were lots of vegetables on the menu. I had a half fried chicken with 2 sides and my lunch partner had a 4-vegetable plate. We shared everything. The chicken was delicious. So often fried chicken is greasy but this was not. The coating was the perfect amount of crunchy without being overly-battered. Highlights in the sides were the collard greens and the fried green tomatoes. Also good were the fried okra, mashed potato, creamed carrot and baked beans. It all comes with very nice cornbread. For dessert we had an excellent peach cobbler. Normally that is way too sweet for my taste, but this had wonderful fruit punch without all the normal added sugar.I would definitely return for more of that wonderful food.
Over priced.. Turkey wings were HUGE and under cooked. The dressing was okay. Didn’t like the decor. Don’t Plan to return.
Great food. I like busy bee been going for years but that fat light skin big girl with the gap who servers there is soooo rude and always has an attitude! I might not go again b/c of her!
On a whim…. Picking up family coming in at Hartfield. They were hungry and wanted something different that a chain restaurant. I will be honest, going into a neighborhood joint like this my expectation for service was low, but my expectation for good food was high. The food was beyond what I expected. We ordered the chicken and a few sides. Everything was flavored very well and arrived hot and fresh. What impressed me the most was the service. The ladies there were extra nice. Will be back.
