Ikea has a great cafeteria style cafe. The food is very good, although I feel sure that it is not very fresh. I always get the Swedish meatballs with gravy and boysenberry jam, and veggie patties.
Bad experience. I went to Ikea on July 18th morning and they said they have a free breakfast. So I went to the Cafe and they had a plate of bacon, potatoes and I guess egg. Since I am a vegetarian, I said I don’t need bacon and egg and so just potatoes will do. But when I come to the check out , the lady at the counter charged me for the breakfast. The reason she said was, the free breakfast applies only to the platter of potatoes, bacon and egg. Since I had just potatoes, it is not a free breakfast. I said I am a vegetarian and said I didn’t want bacon and egg on my plate and hence the server actually gave me only potatoes. The lady at the counter asked if I was not told by the server that it is not a free breakfast with only potatoes and I said I was not informed so.I didn’t even ask for any extra potatoes on my plate in place of bacon and egg.I just said I didn’t need those two on my plate, that’s all.It is not a matter of paying this amount for what I eat, but the sense of being cheated and also the feeling of being humiliated for your food preferences (vegetarian).
