A cry for help. Ok, so K&K Soul Food has reopened after a fire almost destroyed the place. I thinks it’s been open for about 3 months or so.Saturday was my first time going back since it’s reopening. I had a taste for some sweet potato pie. I had some from sweet auburn bakery during Thanksgiving and haven’t had my fill yet. I go down and pick one up from K&K. Bad idea. I don’t know what happened but the pie was all wrong. It’s not that it didn’t taste good which i’ve had better. The problem was it had so many strings in it you could have made a piano with it. I hope the food isn’t as bad as that pie was. But when i went there. There was no line and the place had a few people in there eating. Usually it would be a long long line with people eating. I hope that pie wasn’t a bad omen.
K & K. This restaurant really lives up to its reputation for great soul food cooking and friendly staff. I had the 4 vegetable plate as did my brunch buddy. Every mouthful was delicious. I will definitely make this a regular place to eat. (P.S. I will have to remember to take a pic next time for posting. Was to busy grubbing this time to remember. lol)

Very Good. If you are in the mood for some true soul food, down home southern taste. This is the place. They have the foods your grandma cooked…Turkey wings, ox tails, yams, greens, mac and cheese…the real stuff. My food appeared to be fresh and not frozen or canned. Seasoned perfectly. Truely down home before we became health conscience cooking. Awsome!
