As we were waiting for our pastries, chef-owner Guy Wong stopped by the table to ask us how we enjoyed our meal. He told us of the inspiration and about his other projects in the works. We told him that the food was excellent and that we had told the waiter how impressed we were with the value. He said that his goal was to make Le Fat a place that you could return to twice a week, instead of once a quarter. This is a great addition to the west side. And a place to which I would not hesitate to return.
Fantastic new restaurant. Last night was my first opportunity to try Le Fat. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is very relaxing and casual. We shared the blt buns, which were fabulous, the green beans and spicy calamari. Everything we tried was authentic and delicious. We shared the chocholate cake and the creme brle with mint leaves. Wow. That’s all I can say!!It is clear that a lot of thought was put into creating both the menu and the desired atmosphere and it shows. I will definitely be back and telling my friends about this place.
Pretty but overpriced. This restaurant just opened up at my apartment complex and I was excited to try it out ! I grew up with Vietnamese food and had pretty high expectations. I ordered the Drunken Noodles, Vietnamese Coffee and chocolate cake. The Drunken Noodles and Vietnamese coffee were good but the downfall for me and why I wont be back is that it was EXTERMEMELY over priced for what they gave you. ESPECIALLY the dessert. I was presented with 2 slivers of chocolate cake the circumference of a tangerine and a scoop of ice cream. I was very disappointed. I probably won’t be going back unless it’s for the coffee.
Great Surprise. Went to Le Fat for the grand opening tonight. When I heard a nice Vietnamese restaurant was coming to the area I have kept tabs on the opening. First off the place is beautiful but not fine dining stuffy. Kind of high end quirky cool French-Asian. We started off with the summer rolls which were really good. They took a little bit but I would think that is first night stuff. The Vietnamese beef stew seemed really authentic but way, way above what I’m used to on Buford Highway. The chicken clay pot that my daughter ordered was amazing. My wife had the salt and pepper squid which was the best I have tasted. It was kind of obvious that it had just opened. The sidewalk is lined with cool Asian planters which had some dirt around and looked they had just been built. The valet seemed a bit disorganized but was in the attached parking garage and really convenient and under roof to the front door which was nice with rain. The service was really good. I was expecting fine dining stuffy and was pleased that the service as well as the prices were not. I am looking forward to trying more of the food and the drinks on a weekend.
