My first time was good. The catfish sandwhich was well seasoned, but the wings are too small for 50 each. Second time was truly the law of diminshing returns. The catfish sandwhich was WAY too salty. I tried to scrape the flesh from the seasoning. The broccoli was overly seasoned with creole seasoning. The kids hamburger also had the same saltiness. Place has potential but needs consistency in the kitchen
2nd Time Around – Not So Good!. This is my second time eating at Mojo’s. On my first visit I had wings, fries and a drink. Wings were tasty and fries were delicious! Today I called in an order for a cheeseburger and fries – hold the pickles and mayo. I was told the order would be ready in 7-8 minutes. Because I arrived within 3 minutes of placing my order, I walked to a near by store and returned to Mojo’s after about 10 minutes. I was greeted warmly and paid for my order. After waiting 15minutes I walked outside to get some air and my order was still not ready. I returned indoors where I was told they had made a mistake with my order and it would be ready in a minute. I asked, for future reference, if the order had to be paid for before they started cooking the requested order, as I had waited for over 30 minutes for my food. The response I received was that my order was prepared incorrectly-thus the extended time to correct. (Really?) Enough about the placing of my order and the extended amount of time it took to prepare. Let me share my review of the actual burger and fries. The cheeseburger was a handmade patty, that you would think would be yummy. Quite the contrary. The burger was dry and covered in a lettuce mix, very few onions, two pickles, a slice of tomato and slathered in mustard and ketchup. Mojo’s hamburgers does not use a standard bun but two slices of white bread, drenched in melted butter and slightly grilled. Suffice it to say, the bread overwhelmed the burger. The flavor itself was bland and dry. The fries were tasty but for $8.95 combo, I should have given a lot more. Two packages of ketchup were included in the bag. (WTH!? Really?)I do enjoy the general atmosphere of this West End hideaway. The Motown tunes were groovin and provided a light, comfortable, relaxed eating environment for take out or dine in. The staff seemed friendly enough and from the photo on the wall, it appears several local and national ‘celebrities’ and visited the Eatery. A staff member shared they serve ‘Sunday Dinner’ that sounded good. I will return to try it out. I’ll report back on my review afterwards – Stay Tuned!
