Cute fun cheap spot on the Westside and always delicious! Always great as an early dinner because the line can get long. Awesome atmosphere.
This is one of our favorites. It’s quick, delicious, and a fun atmosphere. The margaritas are great and if the line is long, definitely grab a pitcher from the bar for your wait. The fried chicken, fried fish, and memphis tacos are on point. The queso and guac are great as well. Good for groups and great price.
Rude manager. Sadly, I have to write such a poor review of this restaurant. I was asked to move after sitting down. I was happy to move once i got my husbands attention who was placing an order. He was next ain line and I guess I sat too soon. This guy begins to yell and be rude, so of course my husband comes to my defense. He threatens us and says he was calling the police! Racial profiling is real! I enjoyed their food in the past, but will never eat there again. Everyone I know including the Mayor will know how poorly they treat their customers.
My favorite place on earth. The line is long but moves quickly usually and you’re food comes to you the minutes you are seated. the staff is kind of sassy but many are nice. but the fish tacos are out of this universe. i could eat their guac and cheese dip everyday for the rest of my life. if you’ve never been then you’re missing out of one of the most majestic taco experiences ever
Great food, atmosphere isn’t fancy. No nonsense good food delivered by a friendly staff. Does not disappoint. Cheers! (With the Westside margharita) 9/10
Some people should not be restaurant managers. I am writing to complain about the way my friend and I were treated by your Manager tonight at your Howell Mill Road location. I have had dinner with a group of ten to twenty friends at your Cheshire Bridge Road location almost every Friday night for the last two or three years. The Manager and staff there are always nice to us, and even gave us dinner for free last year when our large group came in for dinner last Christmas. I am very familiar with your seating policy. However, I had to convince my friend to give your restaurant a second chance, which he agreed to do tonight, because Figo, where we normally go before the theater had closed their location that shares a parking lot with your restaurant. He has a great deal of trouble getting around these days and uses two canes to walk, and even then requires some help sometimes. The last time I had convinced him to give your restaurant a try I helped him in and to a table, and got in line to order our dinner only to have someone come and tell him to get up and move from the table until I had our drinks. There were many tables available, and this was unnecessary, and I was surprised to see him put through this since it was apparent that he had a good bit of difficulty just getting into your restaurant and to the table the first time, and the whole time I was in line and ordering our food. Tonight, I brought him in and seated him at the bench just inside the door while I got in line to order our food. The line was moving very slowly, and since there were more than one table open, after a period of time, he decided to move to the table nearest to him, and to the door, since that is the only one he can get to fairly easily. That table and others were available at that time and I was nearly to the front of the line. Even so, after a few minutes the manager came over to me, and asked me to ask him to please move from the table, and I said to your Manager, Why are you asking me to get out of line and ask him to move? Why dont you go ask him to move yourself He did and even though it was very difficult for him, my friend complied and moved back to the bench. Once I placed our order and got our drinks, I took them to the table my friend had been sitting at, and helped him move back from the bench to the table he had been sitting at. The entire time there was at least one other table in the room available, in addition to the largest high top table being completely empty. I sat down with him to try and enjoy our meal and to apologize for the fact that in spite of your dining room rules and policies your Manager does not seem to care whether someone who has a good bit of trouble getting around these days can get to a table and sit down to enjoy a meal at your restaurant. My friend and I might have been able to enjoy this meal at this point, but your Manager chose to come over to our table and inquire how we were doing He did not like our answer when I told him how improper I thought it was to badger a person who had come to eat dinner out of his chair and away from a table that it had clearly been difficult for him to get to in the first place. My friend suggested to your Manager that blindly following rules was not always the best thing to do. Your Manager did not seem to agree. When my friend said he did not think he would come back after this experience. Your Manager sarcastically remarked that maybe we could all be thankful that we would never have to see each other again. I wish I had gotten it on tape for you, but his lack of understanding and rudeness was quite shocking. Even though I have almost always enjoyed your restaurant, I will not try to bring this friend or any friend to your restaurant again, or eat there again myself. I will also be sharing about this incident at this Friday nights recovery meeting at the Galano Club, because I think it is important for my friends to know that this Manager was unnecessarily rude to one of us. I have seen tonights Manager working occasionally at the Cheshire Bridge location, and if he has been paying attention at all while he was there, he should have recognized me by now also. If he was not willing to be friendly and agreeable, he should have never come over to our table again. I will no longer be voting for Tacqueria Del Sol when our group decides where we want to eat on Friday nights. Do you just not care whether people who have a great deal of trouble getting around are welcome to eat in your restaurants? Do you support the actions of this rude and vindictive Manager this evening? I hope you do not feel your Managers should be so rigid about the rules that they deliberately make people who have trouble walking feel unwelcome and unappreciated. Sincerely yours,Jonathan D. Reed
Tasty Tacos. Taqueria del Sol is a small chain around Atlanta. We went to the Decatur location which looks like it is located in a converted gas station. The line to the ordering counter was out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. There is a pleasant outdoor seating area, comfortable under the fans on a nice summer evening. The Westside Margarita was quite good. Another good option is to build your own Margarita from a long list of tequila options. Nice touch. For dinner we had a selection of tacos. I absolutely loved the Brisket and the Fish tacos. My wife thought the Memphis was best. But they were all really good to delicious. The Turnip Greens side was very good. The Jalapeno coleslaw was just a bit too spicy for me.We really enjoyed the great food, the comfortable and fun atmosphere and the good Margaritasall for a very reasonable price.
