My Favorite Dive Bar. Chaplins is a really interesting place. The daytime and nighttime scenes are completely different. Though the menu doesn’t bear anything extraordinary, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ordered. Their generous portions definitely help.On karaoke night’s, the crowd can get a little crazy. When I remember back to when my mom would always say nothing good ever happens after midnight, I think of Chaplins. Everybody get’s sloshed. I love watching people make asses out of themselves on stage. I can’t say I’m much of a singer though. I did try to sing one time but it took like 30 or 40 minutes to get to my name.If you’re looking for the fine dining experience I’d steer away from Chaplins, but if smokey loud BAR BAR’s with cheap drinks and yummy overportioned meals are your thing chaplins’d be right up your alley.
Don’t bother with this bar. Okay, I’m an avid karaoke fan. I’m visiting Atlanta for the first time, and I read that this place was the BEST karaoke bar outside the perimeter (of ATL). THEY LIED. The drinks are SUPER expensive… $8 for a shot of Jameson? That karaoke better be good…. it’s NOT. The DJ (some older black guy) is completely ridiculous. Not only does he let his favorite people sing two or even THREE times in a row, but he himself started off the night with TWO songs in a row. I was there for two hours and only did one song while I watched others do two or three, sometimes IN A ROW. Before we angrily left I told the DJ I was leaving because he is unfair and he made excuses and blah blah blah. We asked to speak to a manager and he listened to my boyfriend but not to me, either because I’m over weight or because I’m a woman. All around, this was a TERRIBLE experience from someone who was soooo looking forward to a good time. Next time I’m in town I will AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I suggest you do the same.
Went for a night of drinks and fun with friends. We were told to take it down a notch because two girls were watching tv! Our group was larger than the entire bar population when we walked in. We won’t spend our money there again!
Stay Away. I went to this place about a month ago for lunch. It is a hole in the wall. I ordered a chicken gyro and could not finish it because of all the fat in the chicken. There are plenty of great restaurants in Roswell stay away from this one.
I ate here once in 1999; it sucked. I came back for a return visit in 2010; it still sucks.
Nice People, Bad Food. If you want to just have fun and enjoy a drink, it’s a good place. It’s smokey inside, which happens with carpet, if it doesn’t bother you, it’s a fun place. Outside is nice and laid back. The staff are characters & a lot of fun. Having eaten here multiple times across a couple years..skip the food. We tried to like it, we wanted to like it , it’s the type of place we love. But it’s horrible on a bad day and just bad on a good. And it got worse, not better. Gimics seem to be substitued for putting attention to actually improving the quality of the food. It doesn’t need more signs & specials, it needs decent quality to start with, then a decent cook. Enjoy Mikey and the bar and karoke, skip the majority of the menu.
Been going here for years. Everyone is friendly and great food and bar. Nice place to watch a game. Great steak sandwich.
