Great Food, Poor Service. This place has the best Mexican food in the area! We especially like the Carnitas and the Molcahate. The drinks are good too and they have a nice outdoor patio. I do have 2 complaints. 1) The service is really hit and miss. Sometimes we have been ignored and forgotten for long periods and have had to go find a waiter. 2) The other thing is the music. We used to enjoy the festive Mexican and Cuban music played on the sound system on the patio. Now it’s just boring everyday restaurant music and they even added TV screens. We preferred it when if felt like a little trip to Mexico over the new homogenized feel of the patio.
Me and my family have been coming to el porton for over 10 years we usually a request for Oscar but this week we went in and he wasn’t there well our server took like 10 minutes to get our drinks our food was cold
I ate here today with 3 other friends. The food was wonderful! The margaritas were incredible! Our waitress was nice, but seemed a little scattered. She kept checking on us, but we had to finally ask to give our food order. Food came out promptly and was very tasty with generous portions. My only complaint was that they refused to honor my coupon even though there was no disclaimer on it for Cinco de Mayo. I don’t understand why they sent out coupons that they will not honor.
Great Place in Roswell. In an area where there’s a tex-mex type place on almost every corner, El Porton really stands out for great food, atmosphere, service, and value. Went there on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. The menu is full of great Mexican dishes and specialties. Our order came out quick and our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and portions were more than enough. Margaritas were awesome as well. When we received the bill, I first thought that they had forgotten to add everything but it was all there. Just great prices for an extremely satisfying evening.
Different from other El Porton.. Not good. I have been here 2 times. First time all the items are good and I liked the atmosphere and the service.But the second time I found the difference. The food is tasting different from other EL Porton and also the drinks are costlier. I then stopped going here and instead go to the Johns Creek location.But this location has excellent service
Friendly and fast service, hot food. You can’t beat this restaraunt for good and fast service, hot food and very kid friendly. Prices are very reasonable and I have never had a bad meal here with my family. The Guacamole Texana for an appetizer is great. Thursday taco nights are also good with a big margarita 🙂 I continue to bring out of town friends here and eveyone always has a good time. Very casual and family oriented.
Good / Get the Guac. Mex.. I’ve always liked this place for their lunch specials. Decent food at a decent price. Now, that said, I have noticed a slight decrease in the quality of their food over the last two years. It may just be an incorrect perception though. Went for dinner there last night. Enjoyed the enchiladas (both beef and chicken) and NO problem with the quality. Their margaritas come in two sizes. Get the large. 🙂 The best appetizer is the Guacamole Mexicano. They make it at your table. It’s GREAT every time.
