Meat by LInz!!. Saturday, after an unexpected illness, I was able to get back to see my friends at the Foundation. Chef Mel has such a great group of individuals working with him in all capacities that I love getting there early to check in with what they are doing. Love of Life, Love of Job, Love of Food… I concur.Ok, Now that we have that covered.I dont know why it took me so long to have the Meat by Linz but OMG!!! I think I usually passed it up because we do beef at home in various ways so I try something else. What a miscalculation!! The way that they pre-prepare it is complex but suffice it to say it tenderizes the meat and readies it for the wood fired ovens deliciousness. We usually sit at a Chefs table if available and we got to watch Ryan do his magic on my entre. Great Job. We will be having it again.
An Amazing Dining Experience, A Rare Find. I am a foodie, and as I age I become more discerning about taste and the flavor profile presented. Foundation is a world class restaurant, equally at home on the Champ D’Elysee. The food is exceedingly well presented flavorful, substantive and prompts diners to lick the dishes.Chef Mel and team hit out of the park on every level. This was an experience. The staff were profound passionate, Mel was the ultimate congenial host and the meal made the eater beg for more. Run, do not walk to this gem of a restaurant.
Awesome Place!. We visited the Foundation for the second time last night and it was awesome! The food and the bartenders are great! I tried octopus for the first time and I love it! If you want the perfect place for date night go here!
Magnificent. If you’re interested in a cosmopolitan atmosphere that isn’t pretentious, and wonderfully prepared food that tastes like the fish was caught in the morning and the vegetables were plucked from a garden out back, head to FSE. Beautifully presented and so good, if I thought it was appropriate, I would have licked my plate. Cheers –
Loved all the food but really, at 50$ for lunch for 2, do they really need to charge 25 cents for mayonnaise?23 Jun, 2014Loved all the food but really, at 50$ for lunch for 2, do you need to charge 25 cents for a portion of mayonnaise?!!!
Our first visit was in May 2014. Friendly, attentive — but not invasive — service. Food was very thoughtfully prepared, beautifully seasoned. Nice to see vegetables treated with the same care and creativity as the protein they accompany.
Won’t be a secret for long…. We celebrated my husband’s birthday here as a last minute decision based on just a few reviews we saw online. Couldn’t have been a better decision! While I enjoy wine, my husband prefers beer, and FSE hits the mark on both fronts. I knew we had a winner when I saw they carry Stone IPA on draft! I began with the Azalea cocktail and could really discern the rosemary and elderflower flavors – quite delicious. But, that’s nothing compared to the food! Upon previous recommendations, I ordered the Mushroom Ravioli and my husband had the Crispy Octopus. Both were amazing. Rachael, our warm and outgoing server, brought extra homemade bread, which we used to sop up the broth. The beautiful presentation along with the execution of each item was simply impressive. We had the opportunity to meet Mel, the very talented chef, and really appreciated him taking time to speak to us. Finally, we got our entrees — succulent Pork Shoulder over Fingerling Potatoes with Cippollinis for my husband and Pan-Seared Grouper over fresh peas and tomatoes for me. They were outstanding in textures, flavors and balance — not to mention nicely portioned. We had to run to catch a movie, but Rachael packed up a birthday treat for us to eat on the go. We both devoured the homemade vanilla bean ice cream along with an amazing French cake with caramel topping. From start to finish, our dinner was superb! I highly recommend this restaurant, and thank Rachael and Mel and all the others at FSE for making it a special night. We’ll definitely be back!
