The service was the worst I have ever had. It was a terrible experience. The food was marginal and the salsa was gross. I don’t ever plan on coming back.
Their Margaritas are awesome. I tried the mango one, it was delicious. It sizzles with dry ice when the bring it. Looks really cool! I am a vegetarian, didn’t have a whole lot of food options, but veggie quesadilla was good. They served a dessert which was on the house. That was pretty awesome too!

Leaving the office for lunch is a rare occurrence for me. Heck, most days Ill just eat at my desk. Today though was different. Id had my sights set on HOLA Taqueria & Bar for a week or so and its not too far from my office so a co-worker and I headed down Holcomb Bridge Road to Roswell.Upon entering the restaurant you lose the feeling of any traditional Mexican restaurant vibe because its a modern, open, urban, trendy, industrial look. One of things I really like about HOLA Taqueria & Bar is their comfortable seating. The booths are spacious and inviting. The chairs at the tables are large, comfortable and supportive. I love the inside of this restaurant because its somewhere that you could come and spend a few hours watching the game and be perfectly comfortable the entire time. With College Bowl season coming up, thats a good thing to keep in mind! (Note to self!)We were seated right away and met our server. She was so cool and I could immediately tell that we were going to be well taken care during our visit there. She got our refreshments quickly and was able to answer all of our questions about the menu.We were served chips and salsa and ordered some queso with jalapeos. We both particularly liked the homemade chips and salsa. The salsa was really interesting and not too spicy for those faint of heart. I should have asked for extra jalapeos in the queso, but for the meek these were just fine.My guest chose the Carne Asada Taco with the corn tortillas that features grilled skirt steak and onions with cilantro and salsa. The meat was cooked to his liking and the steak was surprisingly tender for that cut. He enjoyed it immensely. He chose black beans and he seemed to enjoy them as well.I went with the Camarones Taco which is grilled shrimp with kale and a chipotle tartar sauce inside of a flour tortilla. Much to my surprise the shrimp were butterflied (a plus in my book) and cooked just to the point of being chewy without being rubbery. Perfection! The chipotle tartar was a subtle zinger that was intriguing without overwhelming the smoky, grilled flavor of the shrimp. For my sides, I followed the servers suggestion of the Jalapeo Corn and Charro. I figured you can get Spanish Rice anywhere, so why not try the Jalapeo Corn. Theres nothing but a small strip of jalapeo but the flavor of jalapeo was infused into the corn and it tasted awesome. The Charro is Pinto Beans, which I think is cooked in chorizo that is a spicy pork. End result is fabulous. I mean this is right up my alley and I could eat this for a meal. I need to find out if I can get a quart for take-out.So, lets get real. I killed this dish and loved every minute of it. I called our server over and mentioned Do you remember when you asked me if I wanted two or three tacos? Can I get TWO more? Of course she agreed and I tried them on the corn tortillas just to check, but I have to say that I prefer the flour tortillas more. Obviously, its your personal preference and taste. What a fantastic lunch! I was packed to the gills and ready for a nap! Now I remember why I seldom do lunch out I dont want to go back to work! Good friends, good food, a really cool server who took great care of us what more could you ask for? See you next time at HOLA Taqueria & Bar. Guten appetit! atlanta-food-critic.com
This is by far my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Atlanta…Roswell. I discovered this place on April 2015 and quickly became addicted. The chef is passionate about using the freshest ingredients in gourmet type presentation with each plate. Also don’t be shy because the chef is very accommodating in meeting your needs. I’ve enjoyed the crab & shrimp enchilada, jumbo shrimp in ranchero sauce, mussels, ceviche, veggie burrito….even the chips and salsa are amazing! As for dessert, the tres leches is the most amazing one I’ve ever tried (I’m from Miami/Colombia) so this was a surprising delight!! I’ve recommended several friends to Hola Taqueria and they’ve all had an excellent experience. The staff is always pleasant…Robert, Lance, Kimberly …..all fabulous!! AtlantaLatinos.com gives this place 5 stars!!!!P.S. They also have a huge bar selection…including a drink with roasted pinapple!!
Best Mexican Restaurant in town!. Excellent customer service, great food, a wide variety of tequilas, and an overall great environment! The best!
While I’m not a huge fan of the branding (hate the logo)…the food and restaurant design are pretty great. We have eaten HOLA so much since they’ve open (both in restaurant and to-go) and can honestly say the food is consistent. You can really tell they have invested a lot of time in their menu. One favorite of mine is the Sopa de Pollo that has fresh avocado in it and is super hearty for this time of year–yum : ) the tacos are very good as well–my fav are the carnitas and the hubs loves the steak. My only suggestion would be to update the logo and branding (some friends of ours were turned off from checking it out because they thought it looked like a chain). The website isn’t that great either. But don’t let that deter you–the food speaks for itself. Someone said it was pricey but I would disagree and say the prices are on par with some of the other taqueria in the area. Also, it isn’t clear by the menu, but you can order tacos a la carte if you’re like me and not into the sides and want more than one type of taco.
