Go…go…go…see for yourself.. Quite simply the best home cooked Cuban food in the Metro Atlanta restaurant business. This place is as good or better than El Ciboney in Key West and Versailles on Calle Ocho in Miami. I love Cuban food and will go to the Havana Sandwich Shop until I die, but for a MEAL that will make you feel like you are sitting in your Cuban mom’s kitchen (if you were Cuban), this….is….it. We dive a lot so we are in Miami a lot and I used to be in the restaurant business. This is the real deal and they deserve to succeed.I’ve been there three times and every menu item I’ve had has been wonderful. Properly cooked and properly seasoned. The pork was falling apart tender and juicy. The palomilla style steak was wonderfully tart with citrus marinade. The black beans were so good they were WRONG. Don’t know about the sandwiches, I can’t resist the entrees, so I’ve never had them.Finally, a note about the pastries. Buy some to take hoome for breakfast. If you have ever been to the Versailles in Coral Gables to the little coffee shop on the side, you know what I mean and will not be disappointed. Lazaro nails them. They are perfect little bits of flaky guava heaven.
