Think Twice. We love Mexican food. We will drive a while to get good Mexican food or beer on tap. That being said, this place coulda beenah contendah, BUT, we ordered a Victoria on tap, it was FLAT, was told the Pacifico was better, it was not. It too was flat. Flat like the beer had been poored and left in the fridge for a week flat. Sent the second one back. WE should have known when the place was nearly empty at 8pm that something was up.. Ordered the customary tacos al carbon. The meat was tough and as chewey as a bike tire. portions were small. For the kids as well and had to order more food to satiate them. Got the bill, both flat beers were on it. Asked about removing the one we sent back, no dice. I said no problem. Would never go back. On a side note, the chips and salsa were above average but that’s were the party stopped. I have yet to find a Mexican restaurant that is Colombian owned worth a second visit.

Admittedly, when it comes to a dining experience, I’m pretty spoiled. But I’m writing this review because Rojo Cocina did everything right. And, based on my recent experience, the good reviews and high praise are well deserved. From the front door to getting the check, it’s apparent that management knows how to keep customers coming back. All the Mex staples; chips, salsa, queso, guacamole, margaritas – excellent. Our server was so perfectly engaged – anticipating everything, making great recommendations – it’s obvious they have been well trained. All the entrees were well prepared and presentation was excellent. When you’ve gotta have Mex, this is a great choice. Good job, Rojo!

One star is too many. We went to Rojo at 3:30 Saturday afternoon. We’re huge foodie’s and couldn’t wait to try it. WAIT was the key word. There were 2 customers at the bar, and one table on the other side of the restaurant. We sat down and waited, and waited. The Bartender was waiting on the table. Nobody greeted us, ever. We waited 10 minutes and left. Won’t return. If this is the way a new business treats it’s customers, remember tat there are hundreds of places to eat in the same area. No reason to eat at Rojo.
